Surviving the "New Republik"

Surviving the “New Republik”
On a daily basis I find myself getting a bit irritated on the forums and in discussions with people around changes that have happened in the game. In response to this I have decided to write a survival guide for the “New Republik”.

1. Working as a manager
In order to prosper in the new world you really need to have your own company. Every time you work for yourself you gain 2 xp and lose 10 health. This means that if you can work a full 300 health you would level up twice as quickly as if you were fighting.

So how do you get started? Firstly you will need 10 gold. This may take a while to build up but remember even the biggest business had to start somewhere. Once you have 10 gold I would suggest you buy a raw materials company as a starting point. You can choose any of the raw materials though I would suggest grain for your first company. I will explain why later on. From here you can produce your own raw material and sell it on the market. You should be able to make about 20zar per day. This all depends on the market not being flooded and on how much you produce as well.

So your first company is up and running and you could either use this money daily or else start saving for your second company. If you ever want to make finished goods it is important that you make this second company another raw of the same type. Repeat the above steps and save up for your first Food company.

Ok so the new system has made this much simpler than before. You would need to work your two grain companies first and then with the new storage system this will automatically be available for your food company. So work at the Food company and you now have your first “produced goods”. The importance of having 2 raw companies per producing company is that you will then be able to produce enough raw material to not have to buy any from the market.

From here you should be able to supplement your health by eating your own food and once again the new storage system means your food is consumed directly from your own inventory. Gone are the days of selling goods to yourself at 1 cent and being limited as to how many you can buy from yourself per day. So you should now be using roughly 20 of your own Q1 food to get by per day. This is 15 for the 3 companies you own and another few for your market job.

You should still be making a surplus and you can sell this on the market or use it to put in some extra fights.

At this point things slow down a little bit and you have one of two choices. Choice number one would be to save ZAR to buy more land as you are limited to 3 companies. Once you have enough 1000 zar saved up you can buy another piece of land and then start again in the same industry or another one as you see fit.

The alternative would be to upgrade your company. I would initially advise against doing this as you don’t make any additional money from higher quality food.

At some point you need to make a choice as to when to stop as you will run out of wellness to fight. So far I am quite happy with the 15 odd companies that I am running.

If you have any questions please feel free to send me a PM

2. Unified Inventory

This I take no credit for as it was stolen from the eRepublik Forums.

You can see it here http://forum.erepublik.com/showthread.php/109423-Unified-Inventory-and-Money-Account

INVENTORY

Q: What happens with my inventory?
A: All the products from your inventory will be moved into the new storage.

Q: Wow! So I can now store up to 1,000 items instead of just 20 items?
A: Until Day 1,250 you will actually be able to store an unlimited number of items.
But, to answer your question, after Day 1,250 a new-born citizen will indeed be able to store 1,000 items instead of just 20 items, as it can now.

Q: Will there be any capacity extensions available?
A: It hasn't yet been reached a final form, but capacity extensions may be activated for each company.
For example, each company might increase the total storage capacity with 5,000

Q: What else will be moved into the new storage?
A: All the products and raw materials from your companies will be moved into the new storage

COMPANIES

Q: It was really hard to use the products I created. Will it now be easier?
Yes, completed goods created in the company and raws extracted in the company are directly deposited in the storage.

Q: What if, after Day 1250, I reach the storage limit?
A: If your storage is full, you will not be able to receive donations, buy from marketplace or extract raw materials.
However, you will be able to create final products in your companies, as there are less products being created than raw materials being used.

Q: How will companies be able to function if they do not have raw materials deposited in them?
A: Companies will now use raw materials directly from the storage.

Q: Thank you! I was loosing so much time with making sure all companies each have enough raws.
That reminds me, I was also loosing a lot of time investing currency...
A: Problem solved dear citizen, all currencies are now merged in one unified money account

Q: And what are the implications of the unified money account?
A: Companies use currency directly from the unified money account for paying salaries and Income Tax will be applied only to salaries, no more Income tax applied to Collect

MARKET LICENSES

Q: The Storage Facility also has the ability of putting offers on the Marketplace?
A: Yes, you will now directly be able to sell, even if you do not own a company.

Q: But won't I need a market license?
A: Everyone will receive one license for their citizenship country (citizenship at birth for new citizens, current citizenship for old citizens)

Q: And what can I sell with that license?
A: Well, dear citizen, market licenses have just been made awesome: a market license for country A will allow selling any raw material and any product of any quality in that country.

Q: What about the licenses for which I payed Gold?
A: You will receive a number (let's call it "X") of FREE licenses to assign to whatever countries you may think is best.
X = Total Number of Licenses Your Companies Had - Total Number of Companies You Now Have

Q: How much time will I have for deciding to what countries will I assign my free licenses?
A: Don't worry about that, you may even decide to keep certain free licenses available in order to use them for the countries that will be implemented in the future.

USED PRODUCTS

Q: Can I also sell used products?
A: No, Used Products cannot be put on-sale or donated

Q: I had several used *insert item type and quality*. Now I have only 1.
A: This new storage allows having only 1 used item of a certain quality of a certain product type.

Q: That sounds reasonable. But what happened with the other used products?
A: If you had 2 or more used products, their durability was summed and, if possible, complete products were created, remaining durability after creating complete products being assigned to only one used product.

Q: Please tell, what house will be used daily and what food will be consumed by default?
A: The House/Food with the highest quality will be used.

3. Military Units
So people have been saying for the most part that this is a totally useless addition to the game but I am optimistic as to the future of the military unit. I don’t think these will be scrapped and they were probably rolled out way too early. Having said this I am eagerly waiting to see what changes or additions are made to the Military unit going forward.

Here is the information they have given us so far:

You can see this on the forum as well
[NEW FEATURE LIVE] Military Units
Dear citizens,

This feature is formalizing an already long standing community concept - "military units". You can find below a list of their basic features.

You can create or join a military unit by following this link: http://www.erepublik.com/en/main/group-create/military.

In the future, we have plans to add improvements to this new module; thus your suggestions are more than welcome.

Yours truly,
Plato

Basic documentation

A Military Unit (MU) is a group of citizens, with Leader & members

* Joining a MU is made via an application, which MU Leader must accept or reject
* One citizen can be in only 1 MU at a time
* One citizen can apply to only 1 MU at a time
* One citizen cannot apply to another MU while being already a member of a MU
* MU are limited to 50 citizens (including its creator/leader)
* MU are limited to 50 joining applications
* MU is created in the citizenship country of the creator and its location cannot be changed
* Only citizens with the same citizenship as the location of the MU can request joining; however, no limitation in changing citizenship afterwards
* Each MU has a private "feed" (which can be seen only by its members)

UPDATE:
Thank you for all your suggestions. I will take this opportunity and announce that this is only the beginning, as this feature will continue to develop. As for example, soon enough, you will be able to change the leader of the Military Unit. Please stay tuned.

UPDATE2:
Seem like the minimum rank required has just been lowered! All citizens with Commander military rank or above can now create a Military Unit.

My suggestions for the Military Unit:
• I think the first thing to mention is that it would need some kind of bonus. So either offer extra rank points or extra damage to give us an incentive to spend the 40 gold. I have seen this whispered around the forums but nothing that can be confirmed
• Make the unit upgradeable: This could be done on several levels ranging from being able to house more soldiers or do extra damage. As a very minimum they need to be able to house more soldiers.
• Allow for the Military unit to be run by several people perhaps with different access levels
• Allow for the Military to act as a quartermaster. This could be taken a step further and soldiers could be given a certain allowance to stock. Ie tanks would be able to get more food or weapons than a normal soldier without having to wait for someone to distribute them

4. Improvise
It is useless to complain about changes as for the most part these changes will only make you frustrated and they will probably continue. Instead why don’t you try improvising and adapting the new system to benefit you?
The worker manager change has allowed me to improve my national ranking by about 30 positions since it was implemented as I have gained a lot of xp from working and have been able to fight a lot more than before the changes were made. I also realised early on that the gain in work XP was something that I could benefit from and I have gone from about 60th (guru😉 to 3rd (guru**😉 in eSa. Technically 4th when Zamrg is around but the point still stands. This happened by looking at the new system and seeing what benefits I can get from it and not by complaining about changes that are implemented.
Just this morning I bought some cheap oil in Argentina to take advantage of the new storage system. Seeing as I was already there I stocked up and I will reap the rewards later on…

Will you survive the “New Republik”? The choice is in your hands….
