Should we Airsrike

Day 2,046, 21:14 Published in Australia Argentina by Mickskitz

Hi All,

I am not sure how many of you were listening in on the CP primaries debate the other night between two of the potential CP's (Arthur the Elitist Cole and Callumh123), if not link to it HERE. One thing that was brought up as a question was an Air Strike, which both candidates were in favour of using.

I may be missing something, but I can't understand why anyone would want to airsrike while we are regaining or even once we have our regions back. I don't claim to understand all the game mechanics, so feel free to correct me but if we have our regions back, AN AIRSRIKE IS A WAIST OF MONEY!

The way the economy in eRepublik works (in relation to regions) is that for each region we have that CONNECTS through regions we own directly to our capital (currently Victoria), we get a resource bonus for what ever that region has. For example NSW has cattle, so with us having NSW and NSW being connected to VIC our capital, everyone who has a cattle farm gets increased production.

If we hold WA however , and do not have SA or NT, there is no connection to the capital which means that we do not get the bonus, and from my understanding, there is no economic benefit to holding a region that does not connect.

Back on to an Airstrike. An Airsrike by it's definition is an attack on a region that does not border one of your regions, i.e. North Korea. This can normally not be done. for us to get to North Korea for example, we would need to normally border with it. So by it's definition, there is no economic sense in using an airsrike.

Also, you are surrounded, and if you lose the region, it is lost until you pay for another airsrike.

Unless...

If we are wiped, or are looking to be wiped, that is where an airsrike becomes valuable. It is a way of jumping to another easy area to establish a new capital, where we can still have some bonus resources until we can retake our homeland.

Also, an airstrike costs a bit to do. $83333 CC + 10599000 energy units which equates to about $141320 (based on q3 which is the best value for money food at $0.08cc which is the current market rate). So a total of $224653 approximately to use an airstrike.

So I urge all CP candidates to please reconsider your stance on using an airsrike. Save it until we truly need it!

Thanks
