Right Way To Eat Crow
Trekker Tlumac
Recently congress passed a bill that raised our taxes significantly. At the forefront of this bill was our Country President and many of the elder Fed Congressional members.
Historically Feds have always opposed higher taxes. It has been one of the general party standards that has carried us through. We have often been ridiculed for that belief, and there has always been stiff opposition to our attempts to lower taxes.
I would like to state (as bluntly as my sleepy brain can muster) that our position on taxes has not changed. As a party, the Feds still believe in lower taxes for the working man and will continue to do so.
But Trekker, how can you reconcile the Feds calling for higher taxes after succeeding to lower them after such a long fight?
Have you ever heard that old saying “There is a right way to eat crow”?
Yeah... This article is not going to be one of those articles.
The truth is, the country needs money. We have national security to think about. We used a good chunk of our reserve staving off Argentina’s attempt to get foothold in Mexico. For there, they could have invaded us.
Why did it cost so much?
It cost so much because now, more than ever, people can dump huge amounts of damage. There are fighters with over 100K strength. A year ago those same people were at 70K. In fact, everyone with full upgrades has gone up 30K in the past year. Higher strength = more damage. Pretty simple math.
Another major factor the is day 2500 sale that dumped thousands of bombs into the game.
Costs were high. And they are not going down anytime soon. We need to rebuild a reserve. That it why I voted to raise taxes.
Now anyone who wishes to troll me for voting to raise taxes, we are getting to you. Remember when I said this was not one of those times where eating crow was going to be done correctly?
To: Any Troll
“Please take this moment to think of the most offensive thing you can. Now pretend I just said it to you.”

Crow... Yummy... 😉
Raise the taxes as necessary
FIST
The higher strength argument was used to justify making the reserve target even higher than it was
A couple of problems with it
1) If I was willing to fight when CO is 50 then when my strength doubles (and all else staying equal) I am now willing to fight when CO is 25. So this argument would apply if we had been setting the CO at 10 (the absolute min) in Division 2 it reached 250 and in Division 4 it reached 100 (and maybe higher since I was only active for one round).
2) how much the opponent is willing to spend on CO is a big factor (we saw this with France not long ago)
3) From what I observed in division 2 when CO hit 250 big bombs were flying (@1250 a pop)
I can not say for other divisions but there were a lot of big bombs used in Division 2 - this was due to the Day 2500 war surplus packages
So when CO of 250 motivated folks to use there big bombs which would expire on day 2530 if no used.
So what we need to worry about is how much is the enemy willing to spend on COs and will Plato make another large cache of big bombs available.
I completely agree that the bomb packs from day 2500 played a part. In D4 I was watching battles where battle heros was over 700,000,000 damage on both sides.
