Revolution et Libertas: Withdrawal from forum / Terugtrekking uit forum

I hereby give notification that Revolution et Libertas will together with the largest party in the country no longer recognize the perceived authority of the forum of E-Republic NL.
The forum has for a long time been an unequal playing field for our party, and it no longer represents the people of our country.
It is sad that a handful of people have destroyed the platform for us, however we have now toiled long enough to try to fix it and feel that given the amount of active players we have left the forum is not needed anymore in any case.
We will push for the removal of the dictator and the normalization of in game voting for congress members. We will play the game as it is meant to be played, not as a sideshow for handful forum elite who uphold and twist unnecessary law to suit themselves. They do not represent the voice of the in game voters on E-Republic.com.
To those forum elite who are at this stage dividing the spoils of their rotten labor between them enjoy discussing things between yourselves and enjoy your votes, from now on it will have no bearing on E-Republic.com.

Saying this after the congress elections are over is voter manipulation. Why did you feel you needed to hide this?
What does congress elections have to do with this?
If this truly is a party-wide withdrawal from the forum, then this is something your voters might have wanted to know.
On the short term it means that congress may be powerless due to quorums not being met. Then after 14 days, it might mean all your CMs are simple kicked out of forum congress, and all your voters' votes have been wasted.
In my opinion if you want to change the system, it is better to not just ignore the system and try to establish your own, but instead to change the system from within.
I know there are on-going discussions on this exact topic. We seem to have a forum-o-cracy at the moment, with too many people left out. So people also within DemNL are working on methods of making it more democratic, and getting more people involved.
Note: if you are getting less involved because of your move, it per definition is undemocratic...
Djirtsdew, you don't seem to get it. The forum is closed you can vote on whatever you want it does not mean anything. We have a choice and we choose not to use the forum. Nothing compels us to. In real life the forum has no link to E-Republic so there is really nothing you can do. You can choose any pretend forum elite president, but in game he has no power or title.

Well that is just dumb and childish. You want to stop with the Forum that is fine, but what is the alternative? Ingame mechanics¿ cause i predict the dutch treasury to be gone in the next few months i suspect we will get alot of possible PTO'ers cause there will be no check on requests for Dutch CS. And overall things will become a mess.
But sure forum is unfair cause everyone can voice their opinion and as long as people do not agree with you, or your friends than its unfair. The whole does not represent the voice of the ingame people is BS. Majority of the Ingame people doesn't care either way majority of those that care are on the forum, you don't even need a party to have a voice, what you suggest is that only a handful of people will have any power with out any possibility of hearing the other side or anyone not in their party.
Well lets see, the Dutch treasure is already gone, as for the alternative we have discussed it and have some ideas. The priority now is to shut the rotten forum down ASAP not to look for alternatives. Nothing is much better than what we have now.
That's a weird way of doing it. Shutting down something without an alternative and developing the alternative later. I would say turn it around, share your ideas and we can talk about it. In my opinion there are some core principles a discussion area should have:
- Transparancy. Open discussion, everyone is able to see others opinions.
- Inclusion. Everyone is able to access and voice their own opinion.
- Place to explain your vote behaviour extensively if needed.
- Possibility to have clear discussions, possibly loosely moderated (not everything in one topic).
- Place for basic rules and guidelines to protect our country from bad people like Lord Jale.
Do you agree with these values? or do you think they aren't needed?

As long as there are no viable alternatives to the forum, I definitely do not understand your move.
Even before the dictatorship the forum was the main place to discuss proposals. All in-game votes by law need to have a link to the forum discussion, etc. These sort of features are also facilitated in-game. It is not something weird about eNL...
I'm sure many improvements can be made to the current system. So we are open to alternatives. But just saying "the current situation is bad, and we don't want to discuss alternatives" sounds like a dead-end street to me.
Treasury is not gone, and if it is, thanks to tonie.
I am not the activst player in this game and therefore I will abstain for voting on this matter.
but i will say this about this issue the forum is and always has been the best why to run our country but now there is a reliable threat to our forum to not be fully accepted by everybody because of figures who aren't objectief and disadvantage certain party's I Agree that action has to be taken and in my view to solve this question is to do the following: make the forum mod an office that can be democratic alltered once evry month and don't make this a voting option for only congress people but make it open for everybody.

A minority wanted something the majority disagreed, now this minority wants a shut down of everything, and now you tell me its the majority that lost its objectivity?
Forum Mod position has been up for vote and can if need be be brought back up for a vote, but noone aside from 1 person wants to do it. No one has the time or the will, so having a vote every month wont change this.

my experncies with how the forum mod is constructed our pretty outdated but if this is the case what you say it is then maybe somebody has to be found maybe by intruding it as a paying job. but the forum has and always has be monitered by somebody who is absolute loyal and objectief and if there are more then one party threathing to go out of the forum there has to be some form of bias.

Fosite you have lost it with your majority minority statements, what are you on about. The vast majority of congress members do not use or want to use the forum. Odan has even on his own taken away peoples forum rights to get motions through. The latest vote 10 out of 33 voted which means 23 people did not vote even though the vote was extended by 12 hours. Wake up it is only a forum minority who want this forum.
@Frederik Hendrik if you offer pay, than all you are likly to get people that will only try to get money, and we will be left with a mod that does nothing.
I cannot say i have seen Odan abuse hes powers as mod, while iseen him remove posts i cannot tell if those are done right full or not cause i cannot see the post it self. But i belief that the other 3 forum admins would step in if they see him going around deleting posts that shouldn't be.
I think majority of the players playing in eNetherlands is aware of the forum, but have chosen to not go there for various reasons, but most simply do not seem to be interested in the Political aspect.
When i say disagree i refer to where NoTie tried to take Dictatorship Presidency and no government, of well become sole ruler, the majority on the forum disagreed on this, a minority only wanted this and didn't get their way. No this minority wants to remove the Dictatorship the forum and current laws, cause acording to them all on forum is evil.

Case they didn't vote against the fact NoTie tried to become sole ruler doesn't mean they are in favor of it. All it means is A they are inactive B they didn't care either way. But considering this same 23 people haven't said a single word i assume they are inactive.
You claim to be talking for either inactive people or those who can't care to comments either way is a clear sign your the one that lost it.
I do not claim to speak for people who aren't saying anything, nor am i interpreting their silence as them agreeing with me.
For accurate forum usage, it's better to not just look at the last vote, but at all votes of last month.
Gen de la Rey, Shtula, Leiden, Jopie, 911mic, Gwom, Trannsvaal, Steve_God, feddolt, odan, blackpatje, Willem, AI, MDSanderson, Shawty, djirtsdew, Auggustus, Legendardisch, Lancer, Daniel Parker, Starac, Skyjacked and Naffer were CM last term and voted all at least once. These are 23 of the 34 people who are able to vote. I can't tell you who didn't vote right now, because the congress election result page is bugged till the results of yesterdays election are presented. But I know one of those 34 is kimi, who is blacklisted, so doesn't count as a CM.
23 out of 33 is pretty decent. It's not amazingly good, but it isn't as bad as you think it is.
Spir what is the average vote count?
@GEN for May the average would roughly be 12 just looking at it quickly and perhaps a average of 14 for the rest of this year.
And with you guys "stop going" the average seems to be 10.
Just rough estimates cause if you want the exact numbers you going to have to go check for your self.
The average vote count is a lot lower. Which proves it is more a problem of mobilization, instead of caused by limited access or corruption. It also means there is enough people who are active and are able to change the situation.

I think it will be a bit more maybe, but not much. But the more people will vote ingame, the worse it will be really. Do we want people who vote to be people who don't understand what they're voting for? I don't. I want the people who vote to be people who are interested and informed to make a good decision based on their own view. That's not possible sadly, but making it worse is something completely different. I like representation, but I don't like tame sheep behaviour.
