I haven't read an actual novel in quite some time now. However I do read Comic books and Graphic novels rather frequently. I read Image comics as well as DC and Marvel. I highly Recommend Saga from Image to any one looking for an interesting read.
Its about two different beings. One is from a planet called Landfall. The other is from Wreath the planets moon. The two races hate one another and have been at war for centuries. However the main characters love each other in spite of this. They have distinct features based on there heritage. Those from Wreath have horns and the others from Landfall have wings on there backs.
There is a bounty hunter with a cat who blatantly tells if you are lying about something. A robot prince who is dead set on capturing the fugitives. Also a strangely very friendly ghost named Izabel.
It is quite a fascinating story about the never ending struggle to find intergalactic peace. It also touches a lot on rather taboo topics like racism mostly, although they are alien races who hate other aliens for the most part.

Off topic but so what:
Last night I almost bought the game "Sheltered" (based on an Image series) during the St*** sale (40% off) but found "This War of Mine" at an even better price (70% off) and with fewer bugs in it (as I have read).
What I recall the most about Image comics as a kid, is that it had the finest looking heroines on its covers. Bought a few but Dark Horse was the go-to source for a good story line. Thanks for fulfilling the Arts and Life request ; )
