A real dream is one you have while sleeping not the one that keeps you up.

- A lazy(practical?) Fellow

and also first line in the definition of a dream.

"As I lay in bed last night, I realized something, you either work to earn enough to get the best medicines out there or, work just enough, not to have the need for the medicines" he was sharing his Gyan at lunch.

"A Monday on the next day, never forgets to enlighten us right?" his colleague said with a smirk.

"Oh, I never knew you have a choice!" said another adding to the laughter.

"Maybe, because you have to think to know, which is not possible in your case" he cut back

"Anyways, what I am saying is 'Either be rich or be satisfied' or you can alternatively be rich and be satisfied too" shaking his head as if he discovered another trove of knowledge.

"It's easy to think all this brother but when you have a deadline breathing down your neck, you first will think to save that neck and when once that is done, you get to your next deadline and so on..."

"Exactly my point, deadlines, timelines, deliverables, targets, these are eating our judgemental power'

he looked around, "See, at the end of the day, no one cares if I am satisfied, all they need is themselves to be satisfied"

"I get you, bro, it's not like everyone here is exactly jumping in joy to put up at least 10 hours a day continuously, all have their necessities and this is honestly how the industry works, if we want to work, this is how it is being done" the person sitting opposite on the table said.

"Look, 'This is how it works' is a statement that we all use to escape our inability to question, if we don't even talk about these things, there is no way we will overcome this, I have made up my mind, am not going to be same, let him say 'please complete this before you leave' I will give it right back to him" referencing to his lead.

"You know what? This..." she held his words back as she noticed someone entering the area.

There was minimal chatter after that, mostly about trivial things till they moved back to their desks and to their work.

It was somewhat past 8, half of the desks were empty before she realised it.

She promptly checked about cab availability and closed for the day.

While leaving, she noticed a familiar face.

"Well, it isn't for the rebel that enlightened us in the afternoon, I would still be lost in my work," she remarked as she passed the person across the row.

He raised his head momentarily before he took his phone and extended his hand, giving it to her.

'EMI debited, your account balance is xxxx' read an SMS.

"Today was not just a Monday you see, but also 2nd of the month," he said as she left his phone on the table, and walked away probably checking her own messages.
