Presidential Election Overview
declandonaghy88
Good evening citizens of eIreland. I hope this finds you safe and happy.
Usually, Presidential overviews should be done closer to the election on the 5th, but I have History exams on the 3rd and 4th May, so I'm going to do this overview now, which will then allow me to go back to the revision I have been putting off religiously for the last few days.
I would like to state now that I, declandonaghy88 am a neutral in eIrish politics and have no afflication at this time with any political party in eIreland.
I will admit that in my past as a citizen of eIreland, I have been a member of The Irish Union Party, The Irish Socialist Republican Party, The Irish Radical Party and Independent Voices. Wow........ I have been around!lol!
The Irish Presidential Seal, its a fierce good looking thing!
As it stands at the time of writing this article, The eIrish Presidential race is between two citizens, Irish_Rebel_Reborn and John Gormley.
Both men have experience as President, Irish_Rebel_Reborn twice, John Gormley, once.
Irish_Rebel_Reborn is running under the banner of The Irish Socialist Party, while gaining the endorsement of The Irish Progressive Party, Eire Aonair and The Celts.
John Gormley is running under the banner of The Irish Freedom Party and has gained an endorsement from The Independent Labour Party.
Both Presidential endorsements seem like political "Grand Alliances" where there are a mis-match of parties supporting both candidates. It is clear that political orientation is no longer terribly important in this game.
It must be noted that The Irish Independence Party, The Way and The Irish Union Party have not endorsed either candidate. It will be interesting to see what candidate, if any, these parties decide to put their weight behind.
On the parties that have endorsed either candidate, we can see that Irish_Rebel_Reborn would gain 196 votes, while, John Gormley would gain 157 votes.
We must bear in mind though, that there are members of these parties that are unactive or dead, and we must also take into account the votes of those that preside within eIreland, but are not in a political party. I, myself being an example of this section of society.
So.............................![]()
Its a real head scratcher!!!
That is a decision you must make for yourself. Both men have experience so we know that both men are a safe pair of hands with regards to the position you would be voting them into.
All I can advise is that you vote for the man you feel can do a better job or you have more in common with in regards to aims and objectives that they will release before the election on the 5th May.
I also hope for a fair, free and clean election, so no mudslinging!
Thank you for reading dear citizens and if you want to hear my future ramblings, feel free to subscribe.
God Save eIreland!!
