I am still looking for someone to fill the position of Minister of Finance. This responsibility involves managing the treasury and advising on taxes, budgets, and the economy. If you feel you have expertise in this area and are interested in filling this vital position, please contact me.

Hospital
The hospital is still looking for workers with skill in construction. If you have construction skill, this is your chance to help out Norway, and get hospitals to our other regions faster! Contact Universal Healthcare Q4 to learn more.

Recently, Ireland proposed a peace treaty to the US which was accepted by both parties. This ended our training wars with them, so I sent our Minister of Foreign Affairs to address the issue with President Jewitt. We learned that the US is trying to get a training war set up with Mexico so we can get back on track.
Meanwhile, we have continued our MPP with Greece which enables us to fight with them in their wars against Turkey. Minister of Defense Terje Hansen has opened Heimeværnet to the public. Through Heimeværnet we are able to give battle orders, recruit for Forsvaret Spesial Kommando, and sometimes deal out weapons. If you are interested, visit www.erepublik.no or contact Forsvaret. And don’t forget to subscribe to Forsvarsnytt and read it every day for battle orders!

MoFA

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has recently opened the doors to the Norwegian Consulate, complete with their own newspaper, which will enable them to better communicate between Norway and the world. Minister Andreas Stassivik will soon be initiating the new ambassador program. Please contact the Norwegian Consulate if you are interested in becoming an ambassador and improving our relations with other countries.

Congress
Congress this month has discussed making votes on erepublik.no visible to the public. Proponents of the issue said that open voting would allow citizens to see how their congress was voting, which would encourage better representation of the citizens views. Opposition to the issue argued that this would discourage congress participation for fear of retribution, and violates the rights of the individual. It was decided that votes should remain anonymous in order to protect the rights of Congress Members. However, debate on this issue is still continuing.
Congress also voted for lowering hospital income tax from 18% to 15% to make the industry more competitive with the manufacturing industry and help get more workers interested in building hospitals for Norway.
To view the discussions on these topics please visit http://erepublik.no/.

Once again, congratulations to our new congress!
Godt nytt år, folkens!

Your President,
Eris Caelestis
