I'll say it again. Find a new way to have discussion in game, and I will support leaving the forum. Also, the French and English language argument is crap, because no matter where discussion happens, the community in eCanada is largely English based.
Hate on the forum, that's ok, lots of people do it. Please be different and propose new means for discussion. Without discussion, we come across as fragmented and not a united nation.

And here we reach the crux of your hatred. The French language is protected in the forum constitution and is accepted. Laws are largely translated into French. Last term, I approached the PFC to help me translate stuff but the PP didn't even respond to my messages. The French are not turned away at the forums. Post in French and it is accepted. I do use google translate as I am not fluent in French.

As Mann says, the forum allows for more in-depth discussion and also the ability to discuss sensitive issues away from the eyes of our enemies. Propose an in-game alternative and we can consider it. I don't agree with tearing down the forum because for some reason you don't want to sign up. Game mechanics don't compel you to join the forum, that's your choice, but it definitely helps organize our country and keep a tight rain on dangerous proposals like Natural Enemy which can cause problems.

Goodness Garry, you're just saying the exact same things again. The government is not run by one person only. ("Why we let one person decide of everything?") If you'd bother to actually look on the forum there's plenty more than just one. In fact, almost all of congress is running our country, except for the ones from PFC who use the language barrier as an excuse to never do anything in congress. Although Google translate does work (I've used it many times before). And I think those who are saying you shouldn't run for congress may have a bit of a strong argument. As a congressman, you should use the tools given to properly propose laws. Instead, you're suggest some sort of congressional anarchy where people don't debate or share the pros and cons of a proposal, they just vote. This is the wrong way to do it, because then congressmen might miss a big flaw and vote the wrong way on a proposal, and then our congress would have to fix it. Not having a forum equates to not running a decent government. Period. The End.

We will keep our forums, and to be honest, if you're not willing to use them you should stop running for Congress. If you aren't part of the forums, then you aren't part of the discussion, and if you aren't part of the discussion, then all you're doing is collecting 5 gold. Nothing you propose will pass, nothing you want to do for the country will come about, and nothing you try to spearhead will ever get off the ground. Basically all you're doing is wasting a spot on the ballot for someone that might actually want to get involve, wasting your time by not getting involved, and our time but us having to read articles like this, or vote on your proposals that serve absolutely no purpose.

Most of the debating is in English because you guys never take part , why would we translate everything for you if you are so vocally against even being on the forums .

from an outsider looking in, it may be a chicken and egg thing. No French on the forum, lower Francophone participation: lower Francophone particiaption why bother writing it in French.

Nah, a lack of French is just a lousy excuse for laziness. If francophones want to participate, they can find a way. They have in the past, after all. At the very least, they'd be pushing for change.

Apparently we cannot manage to run the game without the forums, because the people who run for Congress and refuse to use the forum do stupid things like make rogue law proposals and then cry about it when they are told not to. It's not a matter of holding power or excluding people, it's a matter of YOU taking YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES as a decision-maker within your party seriously. If you are not interested in doing that, stop whining and don't run for Congress. It's very, very simple.

No one opposes the use of French on the forums. If you want to post in French, do it, even if the rest of the thread is in English. Others have done so. Hopefully your French is better than your English.

You are making a claim that one person has all this forum power and it is he that demands we all obey his laws. I can't imagine who you might mean by that - Homer owns the forums and isn't terribly active lately. Perhaps you mean the Speaker, who moderates Congress discussions and bans people when they go rogue and do stupid things? That position changes monthly, and its the Speaker's job to make sure Congress members behave themselves and follow the Congressional Rules of Order, which ALL CONGRESSMEN ARE EXPECTED TO FOLLOW when they get elected.

CPF congress members follow the rules. Rylde's Whorehouse congress members follow the rules. PFC members follow the rules, even with the obvious English bias. Everyone else follows the rules. If you don't want to follow the same rules everyone else follows, you have no place in Congress.

No one is "afraid to lose power." We have what tools we have, and forum "power" is a thankless chore at best. If you can't be bothered to come up with a better idea to replace what we have, then all of your whining is pointless.
