Non-Independent Voices
James Keiller
So, after all the unmanly blubbing and quasi-religious nonsense that followed Ibhoy’s departure from the game, it seems that he hasn’t gone away after all. The absentee Party President of Independent Voices returned today to exploit game mechanics in favour of his own chosen candidate in the CP elections.
In contrast to the fair procedures in Saoirse, it seems Independent Voices, victim of a hostile PTO, endorses the candidacy of James Ferrin, without consultation with its membership.
Plus ça change, plus c’est la même chose.

I wrote and asked him about his intentions prior to his leaving, as a blind man on a galloping horse could see this "stock move" coming.
Needless to say, I got no reply.
Is anyone really surprised?
Cas predicted it 2 days ago.
Next up... what'll happen when the snow melts? 😉
Yep, dirty tricks. That's all I have heard about them since I returned.

Is anyone really surprised? nope
Doesnt really matter. Its not great, but we vote for whoever we want anyway. No reason to get too upset about it!

I think that IV policy is that you vote for whomever you want. If the IV party members are going to be swayed by an endorsement then they really don't belong in IV anyway, right?
Trufax James
@Don IV have always welcomed candidates to come and ask for an endorsement , Check the forum ,
And if members can agree ,then the party can and have endorsed candidates outside of IV in the past .Again check the forum.
Don't all party's have a policy of voting for whomever they want?
I'm IV and I support james
Turning in one's snowy grave 🙁
Aha... so that was the secret to your revival Digits. No voodoo, incantations or zombification... just pure cryogenics 😉
yayayay...... ICA Clowns 😁))

The majority of IV members voted to elect IBhoy, and IBhoy has given support to James Ferrin, someone who is definitely capable of being CP. IV members are still free to vote for who they feel, but this is merely the nature of representative democracy.
Ginge, this is not how IV did its business before the PTO, but that's the whole point isn't it?
IV members will vote how they wish, but where this exercise of old fashioned stroke-pulling comes into play is when the 2-clickers see the endorsement of Ferrin on the voting page. It merely proves that, despite all the oul' guff about unity and accountability, the tendency towards cute hoorism remains strong.
Irish_Rebel_Reborn, thanks for your support, it is appreciated.
James
Friends, rejoice for PP has seen the light \o/
Lrn2IRC. We had a vote sorry if you couldn't make it 😉
YAY a short article!!
James is a decent fella, pity IB is tainting him now too....
Hope the IV problem gets sorted soon 🙂
Ginge says it was Ibhoy's decision.
OJ says there was a vote.
You've got to admire the attention to detail.

@ OJ: So the elitist oligarchy which PTOed IV had an irc vote in secret amoung themselves?
I guess when you have so little respect for the membership there's no need to send them a message, post on the forum or write an article to allow them to have a say in their own party.
So nice of you to get a vote before getting isreali citizenship while many still in IV were denied the opportunity.
Well Ginge, don't get me started on whether the membership knew or approved. I think we talked enough on the subject.
IV members will do just as they please, but this was a PTO fair and square and you and IB and James know that full well. The uniformed ICA voters shipped in were never members, but of course they would vote for the guy who invited them. Do us a favour, puh-lease.
Any other interpretation is pure bo***x.
Gráinne.
Here G,
You talk some balls.
I think OJ is referring to a vote held in the public IV IRC channel. I was also absent for that. With regards to this PTO banter, I couldn't care less what you think, but if you're going to share opinions on each other, I think you should either keep yourself quiet or start actually doing something useful in eIreland.
Hark at the expert in representative democracy telling Grainne to be quiet.
Let us accept for a moment Mr Ginge’s fallacious argument that the only people entitled to express an opinion are those who make a useful contribution (a vague criterion to be sure) and turn the microscope on this paragon of civic engagement.
Mr Ginge was, to be fair, an effective PP of Labour until it actually came into power. Then Ibhoy had a massive brainfart, Ginge went to ground and Labour slowly disintegrated. Ginge’s only significant impact on eIreland since his return was to be the alpha jackal in the pack that bullied Luminara out of the country, and then crowed about it afterward. A look at his profile reveals a pitiful level of in-game achievement, given the length of time he has been playing and the degree of condescension he displays to other players of much higher rank.
James Ferrin is making all the right noises in his campaign for CP and has clearly learned from some of the past mistakes of his predecessors. Mr Ginge, every time he opens his arrogant gob, undermines the narrative. If anyone should be quiet at the moment it is him.
Short version: Big hat, no cattle.
Keep myself quiet?
rofl...nah, that's never gonna happen baby. Not when I'm telling it like it is. Never.
As I am a MEMBER of IV, all through this process, I think I'm well placed to commentate on what happened. As for IRC, I don't use it, so I'm not referring to that issue, at all.
It's a pity you choose to keep retorting with the "do something for eIreland" line to me. Coming back to play after 3 months inactive, I'd love to do "something" for eIreland. But as she seems three sheets to the wind atm, there isn't much I can contribute. But don't waste your fingerskin telling me to be quiet anymore, cos it simply makes me want to rant more and more.
As for James Ferrin, I have an open dialogue with him now, and I'm satisfied with that. Your opinion is irrelevant, but don't be dismayed. I'm sure you'll have a useful function somewhere, someday.
🙂
Ferrin is probably the best candidate anyway. he has a plan. I believe eIreland needs a plan...
James, I'd rather if you were going to start throwing mud at me you did it in a proper conversation rather than through a comments box. I don't know what it is that gave you this negative disposition toward me but I'd like to find out.
I had written a lengthy response, but deleted it in favour of waiting to sort this out properly.
