I would like to announce that during the this months congressional elections, I will be running under a different party banner. For 3 months, and 1 congressional election, I have represented the True Blue Party. I was the Public Relations Manager for the TBP, and represented them in the Senate during the March-April Mandate. I am proud to have been part of such a political experience. However, after much thought, I am now joining the Australian National Party.
After considerable time spent analyzing the TBP's political stances, and comparing them with my own, I have come to the conclusion that the TBP is not the party that most adequately represents my economic views. (I say economic views because social policies don't seem to play a large part in eRepeublik. Most government decisions are economy or military related i.e taxes, program funding, wars etc.) When I first moved to Australia I chose the TBP because it was a moderate, friendly party and this is still the case. I cannot recommend the party highly enough. It suited me well while I got settled in, but now I have formed stronger, more specific liberal economic views.
I have thoroughly enjoyed all the time that I have spent with the TBP, and am glad that I was able to have at least a small impact on the party. I would like to emphasize that I am not leaving the TBP due to any hard feelings or discontent. I am simply moving to a party that reflects my views more accurately. The TBP remains a great party, composed of great members, and I am not taking the decision to leave lightly. I actually made the decision yesterday, but delayed in announcing it, out of an unwillingness to disappoint the party, especially those who were relying on my help for the elections. But in the end, I had to think about my own beliefs and that is what has led me to this decision.
I wish good luck to the TBP in the future, especially to corny (we all know how much effort he puts into the party) and to those running for congress. I rue the day when I must face off against former TBP colleagues, but seek solace in the fact that it is all in good spirit.
I look forward to working with the members of the ANP, and hope that I can make a difference in the party. I would also like to take this opportunity to reiterate that I will be running in the congress elections this month, and will be releasing a new election platform shortly.
Thank you for reading,
Former TBP Member
