My Game, My Choice

There has been alot of crap going on lately, and today....well today I simply cannot take another moment of backstabbing bullcrap so I'm going to speak up.
If you don't agree with me, that's fine, it's your game too.
I CHOOSE to play in the eUS Military. I like it here. I like the people. I like the culture.
Over my time here I've seen people that didn't fit in one branch do super in another. I've seen people that didn't like the military at all join a militia and do well. I've seen people not rank up fast enough for their liking move on to other branches or militias and do well, or not. I've seen people that hated the military and militias go to politics and love it. And I've seen people from all those groups come to the Military and love it.
What I am sick of today is people that aren't happy telling me that I should also hate the military. People that have left and joined up somewhere else, or people not even involved in the military at all, telling me that the military is soooo broken and goddammit they are gonna "fix" it by making sure it's destroyed and rebuilt "properly". People that can't just accept that some of us actually like the military and want to be here.
There is a place for EVERYONE in this game. NO group is perfect, each has it's own problems. Can we use some maintenance, yes, every group needs it.
This is my home, I like it here. I have a right to have someplace in this game that I want to play in, just like everyone else.
So what I'm trying to say is this, if you feel you will be happier elsewhere that is totally cool! I have friends in different groups, branches and militias in my office on irc constantly. We all want to have fun. Find your home and have a blast with it.
But if you don't want to be in the Military....MOVE ON and leave this place alone, for those of us that DO care about it and love it. We have a right to have a place we enjoy too.
Oh and don't bother asking me if I want to join your new militia, I've already been told I'm blacklisted in it, even though I've done nothing and I haven't even applied.

I love the eUS military and I LOVE the National Guard
By that, I mean that everybody has their thing. Few people realize what their thing really is and become unhappy just because they know that something isn't a good fit.

I tried two other branches before I settled on the Army, where I am totally happy.
And as for those who want to stir up controversy right now, has anyone noticed that Poland is running rampant in Mexico, and our treaty with Poland expires in a few days?
We are about to face a major invasion from several countries. Now is not the time to squabble.
There's all kinds of ways to enjoy this game; the military is one way, and I myself enjoyed it for over a year. But everyone is free to find a way that best suits them (and to move around as that changes), and it's better for everyone if there are a variety of options available.
As for people trying to recruit you, my guess is they like where they are and want you to join them - I'm sure they have only good intentions.
Army, Drop Bears, National Guard, Swiss Army, Cavalry, and now back to the Army.

The only reason I'm still playing this game:
Military unit. Whatever they are, they are one of our greatest wealth in this game!
eUS NG (Old), eUS MI (One of the original platoon), eSingapore Minister of Defense for over a year, eUS TC for close to 6 months, eUS NG (New).... Yeah, Militarys my kinda game. Of course being in congress doesnt hurt either. Lets me support the military.
Awesome. Found my place in ST6 as it happens, but I think most who stick around erep find some quality time in a mil or paramil org.
(Although I must confess that I have been far out of things lately and have no idea about the specifics that Bia writes about. I'm sure that life sucks.)
I'm not saying that the Military should be rebuilt, but as a recipient of 70+% of the budget, I believe there should be some accountability to the taxpayers and therefore they should be receptive to some change by Congress when their constituents (the taxpayers) ask for it.
I'm a taxpayer and I think the Military is wonderful.
I think everyone should agree there needs to be more accountability...
@Bia: But you aren't the only taxpayer. =^)
I think some may forget that those in the military are also tax payers, so those who are quietly enjoying certain parts of the game are ignored. Don't forget the quiet, hard working players please. 🙂
@Bruce of course not, but I want you to remember that I AM a taxpayer and so are all of these people. We matter too. Just because we don't have a seat in Congress doesn't mean our opinions don't matter.

I support the United States Armed Forces and your choice to be a part of it. Damn proud of our organized military. We owe them our continued existance.

@Bia: Ofc, I feel the same way. I'm not in Congress right now either and feel that the opinions of both mil and nonmil taxpayers matter.

I agree whole heartedly. I know many people are trying to think of ways of getting game retention up and this is the only reason why I stayed.

Sorry if someone got you riled up. The military is the only thing that has kept me in this game for so long. Served in TC, AGE, CAV, AB, & Marines. I have met some amazing people in all.
