TARIJA, Bolivia--Today in an interview with congressional candidate Anthony Colby, this reporter found out a little more about the political ideas of the businessman. " I'm a moderate" colby was quoted as saying, " I don't belive in either extreme of the political spectrum. To take a possition on an issue and not deviate in the face of evidence is foolish. Say you are a conservative and believe in low taxes, but a depression or a disaster strikes and the government needs to raise revenue. To not raise taxes or even think about it because it is against your politica ideology even if it means the loss of life or the destruction of your country is sheer stupidity. I will look at each issue as it comes and try to decide what will be best for the people of Bolivia, not some political ideal."
When asked how his new business was doing, Colby stated " We just opened our doors and have started hiring employees. We'll start off small but hopefully will grow quickly." Colby also stated that he hoped to implement some sort of worker appreciation program at Colby Grain but that was something for the future.
