I have not been very active of late, though I usually read the articles posted and it seems like every other day there is an eGovernment scandal, it’s becoming the norm; somewhat like a prerequisite to being president. Optimistically in a somber way it’s not an epidemic that has solely affected the eNetherlands, it’s more of a pandemic plaguing the entire eWorld.
The question I suppose we need to ask ourselves is why is this occurring? Firstly, is it due to the fact of a greedy ePoltician wanting to fill his/her coffer? Or, can it be a way for the elite leaders of our eNations to stir the pot a little by creating drama? Finally, is it merely a pre-fabrication by individuals wanting to put forth a juicy article?
I’d like to take the first argument and assume greed as the culprit, as it’s in some bizarre way the more ePolitically correct option. In this case we as eCitizens with the right to vote must take the blame. We must take responsibility for our actions, voting is a rite that should not be taken lightly. A more thorough method of weeding out potentially corrupt candidates from the voting process is necessary.
What I find interesting is how this seems to feed the ePolitical system, giving do-gooders a reason to lament about all of the corruption and how they’re run for the ePresidency makes all the more sense. As they, if elected will no doubt lead by a policy of truth eradicating all of the filth from the system that has voted them in.
Happy holidays to all and good Luck to all candidates.

2016? your going back in time...
2016 Real Life
If there is politics, there is power. And power can be abused. There are also those crybabies that do not get what they want and just call it unfair. One event usually has several stories.
Yeah I agree...hard to weed out potential usurpers. In the end, it’s only a game so lets have fun.
Aren't you exagerating a bit? There was one theft now (Lord Jale), there was the mercenary scandal (M de Ruyter), there was the previous theft (already a few years back)...
So the number of big mischief events is relatively low.
Of course people always complain about their leaders. "Hoge bomen vangen veel wind".
But typically this is all about small stuff.
I suppose you can say it’s pro-active on my part, in regards to eNetherlands politics. I’ve seen this behavior occur prior to me getting eNL citizenship. It has a snowball effect tendency in which once it starts it becomes the thing to do for any disgruntled ePresiedent, and it shouldn’t.
In an ideal situation, only highly motivated people run for president. Not for bragging rights or for personal gain, but to help improve the country.
As such most parties will only put forward candidates who have proven to be active from their contributions as ministers in previous govs.
Of course, the power corrupts argument in some cases does apply. But that's more for people who keep being elected. Once their motivation dries up, what reasons do they have left to become CP? Yup, those are bragging rights and personal gain. The same apparently held for Lord Jale. His profile now clearly shows he did it for the bragging rights. Personal gain sort of failed for him...
Unfortunately it's rather hard to judge what motivation the candidates have to become CP. It's definitely not true that all leaders are evil. But remaining motivated is a challenge to some.
I agree. My impression is that if a candidate is elected rather easily without much effort they in-turn will act with impunity and show no reason to put forth a serious presidential term.
