Leaks from Congress #1
Speaker of the House
You elected the guy that went inactive and quit his last term? Lolwat congress. Whatever then, time to show the public what congress has been up to.
Due to the fact I had most of the mongressmen in my friendslist already I was able to whack the PMs together pretty quick.
In Group B everybody was happy enough:
As for Group A, well...
I would like to congratulate Zaphod on his new position. He seems to be happy to let me do all the work for him.
Plz stahp bringing up my past failures ;_;
Right eventually Lanthanide wrote a whopping great load of boring stuff that sparked some none Zaphod related discussions.
More boring views and things ensued.
In the midst of all this, ApronChef kindly began trying to sort out IRC for us.
Easy enough, right?
Good so far, they seem to be getting it.
Ugh.
U wot m8? (Lanthanide didn't even provide his irc nick in the PM so idfk)
Ugh can he not just... do the thingy?
No apparently he can't.
I don't have to run a vote now \o/
Once this whole debacle was over, congress moved on to discuss a bit about immigration. There seemed to be a general consensus from both groups.
From group B:
And group A:
And then Kapten Johnson Appeare😛
So good news: We might actually sort this immigration stuff out.
And then we went and won the war or something.
Those images in wayne's PM were just forigs whinging, nothing of much interest
Then an idea for me came through, oh goody.
Now that I think about it... separate feeds sounds kinda similar to commitee crap.
Oh, also Goku ragequit. Apparently not for the first time.
And that's about all that's interesting.
SUMMARISIN' TIME
STUFF ACCOMPLISHED
A few MPPs signed
THINGS IN THE PIPELINE
Citizenship guidelines drafted up by Kapten Johnson
Arranging IRC meetings seeing as access is getting sorted
Potentially discussing committee crap
Bitchier PM: Group A
Lowest reported IRC failure rate: UKRP and PCP congressmen (no fails reported)
Biggest mong: Malkaiser/goku
Highest Ragequit rate: UKPP congressmen (2 ragequits)
These'll become a series providing mongress remains active enough to give me stuff to leak.
Until next time then.

Comments
Big fan of 2% work tax. Who's with me?
I am in favor of raising it back as per our agreement last term.
Agreed
I am in favour as well
Yay leaks!
Highly Entertaining.
True dat 😛
Not enough drama.
Strange, there seemed to lots of Drama Queens involved, what happened 🙁 ??
I feel like I contributed sufficiently.
excellent, more leeks please - what? no I don't like leek soup.
Oh.... leaks - Everyone wants to go the toilet?
No? someones been telling tales about congress discussion - that's ok then
I unfortunately failed to include Zaphod the Kinky Psychopath into any of the messages for the Speaker of the House of Commons vote. I've offered him a my complete and unreserved apology via a direct message. I feel this is insufficient as my mistake prevented him taking part in a vote as a member of Congress he should have been informed of however it is all I can offer.
Well said. I'm disappointed he disn't accept your apology in our PM.
I did accept it.
We should not have Psychopaths in Congress.
umad
You are certainly not the first to ask that question.
Damn fine Speaker, someone should employ you in their cabinet one of these days...
o7
good job on winning speaker again, nice article, very funny
Zaphod raises valid points, what was the turnout for the speaker vote, what was done to make sure congressmen knew where to vote?
This is great for transparency though, Stirling effort. Maybe a list of who is in which groups so we can see who isn't participating it good.
I think everybody but Zaphod got a message saying where to vote.
Turnout was crap though, only about half of congress voted.
Can the votes be made public so we can all see which congressmen don't even care enough to vote for a speaker? That way we know not to vote their party again.
To do that retrospectively would be unfair. For the next election of Speaker it is a worthy suggestion.
I don't think it's unfair, if Congressmen were elected without knowing that they would be voting for a speaker then something has gone wrong somewhere. Whether it be them not informing themselves or their peers being too complacent to mention it. We don't need to see who voted which way, but a list of people who voted wouldn't be amiss. Providing the actual vote was held in a fair and democratic way then it shouldn't be a problem.
Blame the PPs for putting uneducated newbs on the lists then not even explaining how congress works.
Yh what woldy said😁^ so they can get he stick and say ppl who are most responsible
My Voting link came with an eRepulik danger warning so I didn't vote.
All links not leading into something on the erepublik site come with that, even youtube links.
good summary
Interesting to see mongress wants to raise taxes again, when is the average citizen going to see any benefits?
According to the MoF, our monthly income on 1% tax doesn't even cover MPPs, never mind other expenses like COs.
The benefit the average citizen might see after the 2% increase is less wipes, as we can then cover the essentials and have spare for COs and other shizznits.
