Yesterday Rylde published a butthurt article about the Legend rank in Canada with the rather generic name Legend of GU480 batallion.
in other words Rylde published an article.
This more a the rooster that came to the nest kinda story as I can remember earlier his campaign was for Fritzhill to become the first legend.
His sudden change to Lhasa was because said Lhasa is now the first Canadian legend
This was his earlier attempt to rectify the great wrong being done to Canada

It was almost 322 days ago. Almost but not quite a full year. I wonder if Canada waited whether it would be the last country with that title. Or whether Lhasa would have been instructed to wait for Fritzhill to first complete that mission.
For the record even Fritzhill have not attained the rank yet.
What is funny is the noobish premises this entire campaign is build upon. GU480 did not fight as True Patriot.
Everyone does know some things . One of those is that when TP was introduced you basically cycled 100 million in the country where you were situated to get a TP medal at a certain number of medals.
However if you jump to another country your total TP damage is required for 1 medal.
For example GU480 achieved 950 million in his own country if he moved to Canada his TP score for 1 TP medal would be 950 million. In fact his TP score in all likelihood would be more damage than probably any Canadian has ever done in a TP medal. For 1 medal worth 1100 CC.
Now I know Rylde is not one for math really but scoring your entire TP count for 1100 cc would be a major loss. When one can as Legend score almost 4 to 8 medals a day in your home country.
So the TP medal thing is because of game mechanics. Some time in the future they will probably change it so that you score damage for the country of your mu
eRepublik sees each community as a little egg. And discourages bigger players to move away from their home base. . Thats why the HC companies was introduced. So that one could be a mogul in the mudflats.
Did MEK make no contribution. Its funny how the one member of MEK was a well respected Canadian. How Rylde himself several times hired them to fight on the behalf of Canada.
How he placed massive CO's on several battles.
Rylde thereby acknowledges that Canada needs outside help from time to time.
Rylde forged a contract with MEK Paying them for their services which they provided. @ 50 billion damage a week their no joke.
Hence we should ask ourselves now without the actions of Rylde would MEK be in Canada? NO.
Is Lhasa a rl Canadian? NO(he comes from Germany originally)
GU480 gained Canadian citizenship to brand the rank .
That is all game mechanics required. There is no requirement as to :
1. Fighting in true patriot medals.
There is a requirement that you should as a Canadian fight in a battle as a Canadian and score enough damage to attain the rank.
There is no requirement that you keep your account in the country . There is no requirement that you even keep your account active.
And can we ask lastly if it is so important to Rylde why dont he just pay GU480 say 1000 gold to change his name to Lhasa_ notice the underscore.
Technically his wet dreams would then come into fruition .

And thereby spared Canada a lenghty virtual reenactment of Legend Ceremony in a Rylde article.

What GU480 did was completely legal in game mechanics.
Rylde has every right to not to like the game mechanic that allowed it and to consider it a jerk move. The title is Legend Of Canada not Legend of MEK or the eWorld.
What does this have to do with MEK anyway?
MEK has no more control over what GU480 did in this matter then Rylde does.

why does it bother him so much.. who reads past the Legend part anyway? in 3 or 4 years those legends will be gone and then who will still be around to inform anyone who the original legend was.
If you don't think it matters why did you bother writing your own article about it?
I'm in the position that in order to be the "Legend" of somewhere you need to have lived (citizenship) and fought (TP damage) for a country.
The fact that "Legends" weren't linked to TP damage from the outset makes 0 sense to me. They should of been the first person to achieve a certain amount of TP damage in each country all along.
yes well as i pointed out there is cases where its not beneficial to fight for another country.
And thinking about it GU480 is currently a Legend of VYC Arg Battallion so it seems when your in a country your legend rank follows the name of the first legend. Therefore when GU480 became legend in Canada he was the first legend therefore logically the title was his.
its a case where your suggestion would be too difficult to implement and therefore was not implemented. because how would they handle it he becomes legend in canada and is canadian now if he is not given then title then what would they put in as name. and how much TP damage would you reqaire. How many tp medals. as pointed out 1 would be very unfair as you would need the entire tp damage he has scored in his life to get 1 which could like 100 billion damage. your argument is good on a emotional level but we cannot implement emotions into a program. If you're going to be the Legend OF Canada, you should have damage fighting FOR Canada.
If only there was some mechanism in the game that directly measured the damage a player does for their country, that they could then use to apply this sort of title.... hmm...
You're arguing that he did tons of damage in favor of Canada so therefore he deserves the title even though he was never Canadian when he did it.
Ok. I can see your point, and I accept that.
But what if he didn't. The same broken mechanic that let him swoop in to Canada (a country he fought for) and steal the legend title would let him swoop into a country that he fought against and steal it as well. If every single one of his damage points was AGAINST Canada, and not for it, he would still be able to do what he did. You don't think that system is broken at all?
Basing the awarding of Legend on True Patriot damage, and not Total Damage would have been a much better system.
Would it have taken longer for a lot of the countries to get their first Legends? Maybe. But it also would have let a lot of smaller countries get access to some major fire power when titles that were going unclaimed caught a major tank's eye and they moved there with the intentions on taking it.
From top to bottom basing the award on TP damage would have been a much better system, but Plato once against dropped the ball and what they put in instead is broken to say the least.

yes xavier but this would be considered a clumsy algorithm where even say Lhasa might not get it first. i dont know why they chose the legend of thing as suggested i would have kept it legend of canada and given gu480 a medal but then Rylde would go apeshit about that as well.
@muglack you could create a country class and assign this to damage in a table. that just count all damage countrycode date damage. probvlem is still in all likelihood lhasa's damage for canada maybe under gu480 . how would you base it on tp medals if we recruited say Nyx Lynx as we did in the past and she got legend status in ireland but has no tp medals and wants to permanently stay in ireland it would not be fair to give it to the next soldier would it. therefore basing it on tp medals might not be fair as well our top soldier is polish but was eborn in ireland.
