So...

How did we get here? When did we reach a point where the PotUS is the most hated person in eRep? Why can simply uttering the name of another polititian discredit an entire party? Why is it that trolling someone else's work makes people feel important?

These are the questions that have occupied my mind for some time.

I may be over-analyzing the interactions within eRepublik, but over the last month in eUSA I have seen more Self-regard than cooperation. More trolling than discussing. More lies than Accuracies.

but most of all I have seen Hate.



This hatred of both the game itself, and of eachother, has Permeated every aspect of eLife. There is no place to escape it, no way to ignore it, and no one cares when you cry out against it. Despite the pleas of countless players, it continues. The hate evolves. We go from having differences, to Personally attacking the players across the screen from us. We fight, not for what we believe in, but for the sheer pleasure of Subjugating our fellow player. Our Countrymen.

So might I ask you, what happens when we, as an entire eNation, decide that we must combat the opposition at all times? That we must disagree with others, simply because it is a way of life?

We cause issues, deep within our own Psyche that do not exist. Issues that are life and death, simply because "Individual X" disagrees with us. We end up with a Nation so split that we cannot even come together to protect our Country as a whole. We destroy ourselves.



So what do we do with this Knowledge?

In order to survive as an eNation, we must evolve. We must take this situation that we are given, and turn it around for ourselves. We must focus on what is important in this eWorld, and tune out the rest.

Let me be clear, I am not blaming this situation on one person, or one group. We are ALL guilty of the hate that we have spread, the hate that we have harbored in our own hearts against our brothers. Until we focus on what brings us together, we will never overcome what divides us.

So my challenge to you today is simple. Focus on the good in eRep.

In that moment where you have the opportunity to tear someone down, pass it up. When you read an article that is well written, let the writer know your appreciation. Tell your friends that they matter to you.

And maybe if we each do one thing toward this goal each day, We won't be faced with Civil War at every turn.
