Help for IRC

Morning folks!

With someone recently asking, i thought id post a how to on connecting to irc for our members if they choose to use it...

Firstly if you use Firefox, you dont need any other programs.... you can get the addon "chatzilla" and it will allow you to click under tools and launch a chatzilla irc window right from your browser!

for those that havent used irc.... theres a couple things you need to know:

1: you have to connect to the correct server before you can join channels...
the server the e-ireland is on is this: irc.cccp.project.net

so in chatzilla you would have to "attach" that server
so you would type in the bottom:
/attach irc.cccp.project.net
and another window will open

2: great! now your in the neighbourhood... what to do now?
well there will be some channels listed in the header... but ill give you a couple easy ones

to join a channel you type:
/join #channel

so some of ours are:
/join #libertad-en this is the libertad-ire channel
/join #libertad this is the libertad general channel
/join #supplies.lib this is the libertad supplies channel

make sure you read the channels headers for rules for the channels... 🙂
you can do a private chat with someone if need be by clicking on their name...

im sure there is alot of other channels for e-ireland in there... this was just to make it a lil easier for our libertad people!
