Gold Inflation in the New economy

Day 1,266, 08:46 Published in South Africa Brazil by Crumoet

It has become apparent that the new economy has changed the way we think about the economy. When I was young and and new to the game I remember seeing gold cost 50 Zar. I worked for months in order to save up enough money to buy some gold. I recall fighting too much when I didn't know any better and it took me close to a week to get my wellness back up to a decent level.

Flash forward to Day 1266

Cheapest gold on the Monetary Market is at 297 zar and there is all of 5 Gold available on our Market http://www.erepublik.com/en/exchange unless you want to pay 500 zar to the gold?
I am horrified that selling Zar has dropped all the way down to .004 http://www.erepublik.com/en/exchange#buy_currencies=51;sell_currencies=62;page=1

The introduction of the Worker Manager and the changing of the productivity formulas has meant that business owners are able to make much more currency than they could before and the result has been that the market has plummeted.

So how do we fix this problem? I was chatting on IRC and it was suggested that once Orgs are removed there will be a massive influx of gold into the game and that this would fix the problem. I personally think that people will just use the gold to tank with or buy more companies and the person looking to buy gold will be stuck with the high rates that we currently see.

I am not sure I know how to fix the problem but I do have an idea... when we had the special missions and the extra food fights the markets seemed to battle to keep up for the first time in a long while. Perhaps increasing the food ability back to 500 would help. You could also limit the number of companies managers are allowed to work to the current 300 so there would not be an increase in production linked to the extra food fights. This would also mean increased usage in battles and bigger battles mean that big players spend gold tanking so even Admin would win on this option. As goods would no longer be clogging up the market prices would increase as well and make business a bit more profitable.

Lets see if the resource changes that we are waiting for make things better.... Otherwise my poor e-children may need to buy their gold at 1000 zar each...

Cheers
