Global Economic Review
This newspaper delivers a global perspective on the economics of eRepublik, and this first article objectively reveals the countries with the highest standard of living.

The Q5W Economic Power Index
The "standard of living" in a country is usally quantified as a function of "average salary" and "cost of living". To approximate this in eRepublik, I have ranked countries according to the ability of their citizens to purchase Q5 weapons. This calculation assumes citizens are working at the higest offered wage, and all taxes have been taken into account. Essentially the citizen wage is divided by the market price of Q5 weapons. For example, an index of 3 means a citizen's wage is enough for them to purchase 3 Q5 weapons after working once. Countries without any regions had to be excluded from analysis.

Key Success Indicators
Clearly the countries with all of the natural resources can easily overproduce weapons, and by increasing the volume of sales, they can operate with lower profit-per-unit margins. However, if this were the only factor you might expect that a 100% bonus to resource and weapon production would increase weapon availablity by a factor of 2 compared to countries with no resource bonus, but this is not the case. The identification of additional key success indicators will be the subject of my next articles.
