First week in eRepublik

Day 2,806, 10:14 Published in USA USA by Matt Oaks

Well, it's here. 7 days. One week. The big 0-7. The day I'll finally be able to reap the benefits of my own party's Whalefare. (It's a whaley great program you should try it).

...Oh god, ignore my awful puns, I'm tired.

In the first 7 days since my eBirth I invested myself(and shamelessly a bit of my money) in the game in as many ways that I could. I'm happy to say the in my first week it appears 2 WTP members will take the top 2 spots (Blande 1, me 2) in the USAF opponents defeated leader board. While this may not be that big of a deal to people who have played the game for awhile, it's good for me to see my name on the leader board among people with much more experience than I.

Another part of my investment in eRep was in politics where I made the choice to join the We The People party. But the one thing I didn't want to do was be a sidelines member of a political movement. I wanted to put myself in a position where I could both contribute to the party I am a part of and get to know a bunch of great new people that I will know for the rest of my eRepublik days.

I think I've achieved just that.

As current Deputy of Recruitment for We The People I will be at the forefront of helping bring new members to WTP, a position that fits perfectly into my original goals.

By putting myself out there to the party, I've already met a bunch of new people who were nothing but gracious in welcoming me. Another great aspect of WTP.

There's also no question in my mind(and this is probably the case for many) that I envision a run for a higher position of office in the future.

But for now, 7 days in, I think I'm happy pretty much where I'm at.

Thanks everyone.
