But there are games outside erepublik? Fun beyond the two clicking?
you are such a cheapskate Alpha...
That would be a luxury for me , I am simply poor.
that's what being Spanish does to ya...
Being somalian, or kenian would be far worse.
reported for racism
Just far poorer countries
Kenian is not a race, ...even british is not a race
Anyway, it is a kind of honour being reported by you...
no need to preach to me about it bro.
I totally understand the 'race/culture' debate. But many of the guys here can't seem to grasp it.
Many debates are scapegoats for the real one: rich versus poor.
unambitious versus ambitious
no one to blame but yourself for being poor.
Sure, sure, the 20k current big landowners of current UK trace back to norman conquest. The same in Spain for reconquista.
... and then 0.00001% of plebs may learn the magic of speculation of stock exchange and become rich ... Or they may have a good idea, and enter into the club...
You seem to ignore the social divide... The one that split top posts of companies and lower posts.
being rich is for the greedy
being comfortable is for the sane
Do you have a roof over your head, clean clothes and a full belly? If so, you don't need to worry what your neighbour has.
This is yet another mantra hardwired into the brains of the populace. Be happy as long as you have your slice of bread and shelter. But the question that is only fully true as long as you are young/healthy ( or even lucky , for example in a business) . You cannot count on "shelter+bread" for just being sumise. Anyway, I don't want to ruin your night. Watch some sport or something ( so you think you are a winner, as well).
You are buying into the 'shiny shiny' way of thinking. Being materially wealthy certainly has it's benefits, but it's mostly hard work and sacrifice. You seems to think that luck or the right handshake is all you need and yes, being in the right place at the right time and having the right contacts are all advantageous, but nothing will ever beat being the last out of the office.
No one is holding you down or stopping you from making your wealth, not in this day and age, not with the internet at your fingertips, the only things stopping you is yourself, either through a lack of intelligence or a lack of drive.
You never ruin my night Alphacakes...
That's what I would call a truth that can be true if it was true. It has all the apparence of being truth... but the questions is that millions of overworked people ( or even enslaved people ) can confirm that it is not true. The exception doesn't make the rule. Having said that, it's not bad 'trying'... or even 'trying wisely', ... or even 'trying wisely and with lot of effort'...
yes Alpha, millions of people lack the drive and intelligence in order to ever raise up above 'overworked, enslaved people'. No one is enslaved, you choose to go to work in order to not starve or to buy the latest shiny baubles. Humans have always had to but a bit of effort into gaining resources.
100's of millions throughout the last 100 years have raised themselves out poverty worldwide, through hard work and determination. Some have taken advantage of that, and raised themselves above. That's fine imo.
this is the third mantra of the elite you are using today : the poors have risen. No. The overwhelming ammount of energy of petrol have created the equivalent of millions of slaves. Energy has produced a huge wealth. Once energy is gone ( peak oil) , and since no replacement is feasible ( no nuclear, peak uranium, poor EROEI ( energy returned on energy invested) we'll move back to 1780s... Of course, a techno revolution is possible, or even a huge improvement in social organization,... but the simplest outcome is just ... a huge civilization crash.
All Civilisations that have ever existed have crashed. It's what they do. Resource scarcity is often the cause, whether that be food, water or other important commodities. There is no reason at all that the one we have built for ourselves will last forever.
