eRepublik in Japan?
E.Nikolov
eJapan has a suprisingly small number of players - and most of us are foreigners.
We represent THE Japan. Over 125 million population, one of the most advanced and high tech countries...
Yet why are we just 800? And of those 800, how many are RL Japanese? Few.
As I was thinking of ways to improve our eLife and eCountry, I stopped on this question: How can we get more people to join us?
I managed to think of a few ways. One of which is promoting eRepublik in the Japanese online community.
Yes. Posting in Japanese forums, hopefully even make a few videos about us and the game itself. All of that in Japanese, of course.
I have some other ideas but I don't really believe they will work; this is the one I put my hopes on. Even so, my Japanese is still in development.
And here comes the point of this thread: I'd like to ask people that are confident in their Japanese (and willing to help me, ofc.) to write here or pm me in game.
The same goes for anyone who has some skills in making videos.
Of course I will reward their contribution, I hope that gives a small push to the shy ones
For eJapan!

Was ist das?

The problem is that this has been tried a hundred times already, you're free to try again but chances of success are minimal.
Still, I want to try.
If I lose, it's just me. If I win, it's for everybody.
I guess the best way is to translate eRepublik into Japanese. They even have Traditional Chinese for Taiwan, why not Korean and Japanese?
japanese dont like games like these, and the few that do are probably already playing
@2DG yes, thats true.
@E.Nikotov
Its always good to try,
maybe you could paint a picture of how good a game it could be for them.
Sometimes one person can get through when another can't.
Thanks for your effort and spirit!

err.... If you want Racist 2ch Right Wingers/Uyoku Dantai, feel free to call them.
as long as there is no japanese game translation, the chance is around 0%
@hankofficer, Natsu Natsumee,
Yes, I have to agree - without translating the game, we hardly have a chance.
But, as I said, I need people who speak Japanese....
@Fuyumi,
I'm still positive on this. This is eRepublik - a chance for the nationalists to support their country in a game, and it doesn't even require much time.
@Amaterasu Omikami,
Not all Japanese are "Racist 2ch Right Wingers/Uyoku Dantai".
almost no one is like that.
i had no problem with japanese people as a strange. Friendliest people on earth
I agree.
They are also very kind.
Japanese people overall are horrible at English - (There are induvidual exceptions ofc)
We will never see any changes to the game when it comes to attracting japanese people unless the game is translated, as so many before have already stated.
Some of us(including me) are working with translation of erep, it's a long process. Tho even with the translated erep the likelyness of a proper Japanese BB is minimal.
Well, I could do some video editing or translating into japanese, but I doubt this will work as such games are not really popular among many japanese. Also, people do not have really time for those games, there are many other important thingies. Then.... the biggest problem. Well, english. Not every jp speaks english well. I'd even say, most people do not. Then, the other thing. It's a game and I doubt that so many ppl would like to play. I myself play this game, but I prefer Yahoo Japan games or MMo's or other things like PS3 games. So, you can try, but don't overdo it. You could find yourself depressed....
Good Luck!
Oh! Did I forget to mention that novels or action games are more popular? I did forget to mention that for sure. ^^ NOVELS RULE! The best thing... They are in japanese while this game is in english.
Yup, most people who can speak Japanese are already working on the translations. Though go ahead and try promoting erepwhen it's done.
If they aren't any japs in the game it's not big problem it many players want to come in Japan and fight for her !
The main problems are...
1. Real life japanese people don't really speak english. Only a few.
2. eRepublik is not in 日本語.
3. Japanese people preffer games like Ameba Pigg. Just casual games, portable games.
There might be few japanese people that speaks intermediate english interested in eRepublik though.
A few out of 125 millions is still a big number...

@Ashikaga Takauji x2
Akiyama Sairei +1
I'd add :
3. This game sucks really ^^ I, for instance am here more for the community interaction than for the game, I mean it's not like you can come here at anytime of the day and do things. Once you have done all the 2-clicking, you are done for the day.
4. Young people aren't that nationalist. When I happen to show the game at my family, they laughed (they weren't being mean) at how you all seem to like Japan more than they do... ^^'
Yet, huge thanks for trying again.
I'll serve you tea if you success. ( ^‐^)_且~~
頑張ってください。
