Explanation of the Law proposals Issued by Senators In-game:

A lot of these proposals deal with a Pre-approved Treasury Act . This act, which was in effect as early as March, are a protective measure for our country. It ensures that, in the (unlikely) event of an invasion, our country does not lose all of its finances to the invading country. The majority of other eNations have similar schemes, and it is a widely accepted method of ensuring a country’s wealth is secured. A link to the original policy is unavailable due to it being on a forum which no longer exists.

The printing 90,000 AUD printing proposal was to cater for the September Budget . The proposal by Johnathon Brown after this bill was passed was to move it to the NBA org so that it could then be transferred and used by the relevant departments.

The Tax change proposed by Senator Ezekiel Thomas was passed by the senators because it was already voted upon (and passed) by them on the senate forum. An explanation of the bill will be provided further down in this article.

The Tax change proposed by Senator Nikec Srbin was rejected for much the same reason. It didn’t follow proper eAustralian Senator procedure (i.e. the Senate Forum), and senators had no option to discuss or debate the issue, and were not able to read the intentions of the lowering of the tax.

Editors Advice: A word of advice to all would be senators: If you intend to propose a law (no matter what type) it is EXTREMELY advisable to do so on the forum first. This gives the senators a chance to hear your reasoning for the change, and to determine if they think your proposal is in the best interests of their constituents (i.e. the people who voted for them).

Information about Stewstoyc’s impeachment can be viewed underneath.

Prime Minister Stewstoyc Resigns:

In the last few days, our current Prime Minister, Stewstoyc announced that he will be resigning from Prime Minister of eAustralia.

As he stated in the article – this is due to RL family problems that have kept him away from office.

Update on the Missing Gol😛

As most of you will know, a large sum of gold was stolen from the National Bank of Australia recently. Inspector General Xavier Griffith has received a reply from admin regarding the issue. More information can be found here . In short – admin did not give him any CONCRETE evidence, however they did say someone that they suspected. In the interests of not making a potentially innocent citizen into a scapegoat, though, Xavier has not released that name.

Update from the Defence Department:

Further to the Defence Department update from the last Gazette, here is the complete list of eAustralian Military Marshalls:

Overall Marshall: Cozza
Dropbears Marshall: William Shafer
ACUK Marshall: Timeoin
AAR Marshall: Garven_Dreis.

Update on the September Budget:

As was promised last time, more details will be given outlining the September Budget

Summary of the departments spending:

Department of Defence: $118,500AUD and 55GOLD.

This money is to be spent on wages to increase the weapons stockpiles, and for weapons for soldiers in the Dropbears, ACUK, and AAR to fight in the war-games. As well as this, 55 gold will be allocated for the creation of 11 organisations to be run by the Defence Department, to be used to give squad commanders greater autonomy in weapons allocation to active troops.

Department of Cultural Services: $2000 AUD.

This money will be spent on gifts to increase new player’s wellness up to 40 so that they can fight in the wargames and then heal. This will cost approximately 700 AUD. The other 1300 AUD will be spend on other Cultural Services projects. Both were pre-approved measures.

Department of Industry: $15,000AUD

The Industry Department has done a major cutback on funding requests due to the lack of funds available to spend. As a result, their only expenditure is a pre-approved amount of 15,000 AUD to be spent maintaining the Centrelink company.

Sol Wargames:

It will cost approximately 100 Gold this month to stay in then Sol Wargames.

Senate Bills :

Senate Protocol Act Amendment:

A proposal was issued by Senate Speaker Coppr to alter the Senate Protocol Act .

There were two proposed amendments to this proposal. The first of these was that a section was added stipulating that unless a Senator had signed the Senate Protocol Act for that term, that any suggestions be discounted. The second alteration was that senators be given a 3 day ultimatum after the elections to read, understand and sign the document. After this time, they lose forum access to the senate, and have to contact the deputy or senate speaker in order to regain it.

This proposal was passed unanimously in a vote of 13-0.

Amendment to the Q5 Hospital Company Act:

A proposal was initiated by Senator davyzeng1 to amend the Q5 hospital Company Act . The amendment would have an inclusion into the act detailing the purchasing of a Q4 GFC Wood Company in either Sarawak, Malaysia, or another High Wood region. The purpose of this would be to reduce the costs of creating a hospital.

This proposal was passed in a low-turnout vote of 6-4 (5 abstained).

eAustralian Electoral Act:

A proposal was initiated by Senator CrowdedHouse to create the eAustralian Electoral Act. Its purpose was to prohibit any elected officials (Prime Minister, Party President, or Congress) from offering financial or other incentives to indidivuals for voting for them.

This bill was not put to a vote because Senate Speaker Coppr declared that it was in an invalid format.

September Budget

Another bill to have put forward for senators to vote upon was the September Budget . The budget has been outlined earlier in this Gazette. There was two voting options for this senate. The first was a 90,000 AUD print at a cost of 450 gold. The second was whether the Q5 hospital should be sold.

The AUD print was passed unanimously in a vote of 16-0. The Q5 hospital sale was rejected with one senator in support, eight against, and six senators believing that it should be stored for future use (one senator abstained).

Pension Act:

A proposal was issued by Senator Citizen J to create a new Act called the Pensions Act. This act essentially meant that any citizen over the age of 1000 eRepublik days would recieve 1 GOLD or 50 Australian Dollars per month for a year i.e. 12 months, upon which they would have to wait another 1000 days to become eligible for the "pension" again. A limit was put on that you were only eligible for 5 "pensions" in a 10 year span.

A lot of senators thought this was a useless proposal as older eRepublik players are more capable of gaining currency than younger players are.

This proposal was rejected in a vote of 0-13 (two abstained).

Minor Cabinet Reshuffle:

Finally, Current Prime Minister Melchizedek Smith has announced a slight cabinet re-shuffle. Due to the fact that his announced deputy during the Prime Ministerial election was Stewstoyc (who is having RL problems and cannot actively play the game currently), Melchizedek Smith has decided to elect Minister of Information Timeoin as his deputy, and to promote DeanKong as the Minister of Information.
