Should we even go into an alliance, why not wait and see what happens with Eden, as they still seem to have the most influence.
Though if eCanadians want to have more say in an alliance then Asgard it will be.

Neutral may not be pointless if you need it to buy time as alliances shift around and new opportunities open up. I used to be gung-ho about getting into an alliance sooner. However, with eUSA testing the waters, along with Ireland figuring things out (proCoT?), and EDEN having some trouble lately, it would appear that things are in flux and what we sign up for originally with one alliance may not be what we expect as things develop.

Yeah, but staying neutral is not so exciting for gameplay, I admit. Asgard may be a great opportunity or it may be a short-term deadend. Going that way is the safest route becuase it is similar to what eCanada stood for in the past (proEDEN). CoT is the bigger gamechanger and has more potential to damage relations with old allies and shake-up the way eCanada plays (which could be good if you want more 'action')

Neutral forever may not make sense, yet there is no harm in doing it short-term as we evaluate things further.

CoT has many historic enemies minus TemuButt, and is likely to align with TWO if they need to.

As a core alliance, Asgard has a future, while being feasible to keep MPPs with allies like Portugal, Colombia, and EDEN countries if you want.

@Sabzii: Bare influence isn't everything. EDEN began to crumble when it stopped standing up for its smaller members. Now that most of the smaller members left, EDEN's big members are crumbling.

And influence doesn't mean anything if its wasted. Canada has been pouring its influence into a massive sinkhole for the past few days.

I only really considered CoT because I looked at it during EPD.

Now Asgard seems like the best option people are considering.

I think we all unanimously agree that Asgard is our best choice, but if I am allowed to stipulate from the 3 choices, I would like to entertain a pipe dream. Although this is not going to happen soon, if at all, I think an alliance between Canada, USA, and Mexico if possible would be the best possible option. Canada needs to improve relations with America, we don't even have them in our MPP stack.
Although America has shown no signs of aggression towards us, IF our two countries were to go to war against each other, we Canadians would be the ones that would suffer the worst of the fighting. We are simply outnumbered. Besides, if Canada & USA go into an alliance together, it would keep the states from joining TWO.

Although I think the best option right now is to join Asgard, For me the option of a North American Mutual Defence Pact in the future is not one to be scoffed at.

Funny just before looking at your post I was thinking how the US wouldn't possibly join Asgard as they many times the damage.
Looked at stats - Asgard - 1,002,006,000 , USA - 3,574,634,540
That's 3.5x or they would have 77% of Asgard damage.
The US don't have much to gain from it.

I think it is really a pipe dream.

First we have a lot to gain and we need to see what the US would gain from this. Obviously we'll get safety but what about them.

IT doesn't work out for us because we are so different in rank but the UK and Ireland work together really well. If they have different MPP sets this means they can have TW and region swaps with little consequence.

You also need to check the map if its possible.

I was not talking about the USA joining Asgard alongside Canada, But rather Canada, USA, and Mexico if it leaves CoT going into an alliance between the 3 largest North American nations. A geological alliance rather than an alliance based on power. You're right, a TW the US would end disastrously, and that is a problem. Like I said in my final paragraph, I think that we should go into Asgard, but for me, an alliance between Canada, USA, and Mexico would not be off the table. I was simply putting my opinion into the ring to be analysed by more experienced eCanadians.

I want to be allied with eUSA but that can't happen if we join Asgard. The eUS is making its rounds towards CoT, eIreland debated the idea but may still join Asgard, eIndia left EDEN and joined CoT, and as EDEN crumbles more and more states will likely go towards CoT. That was their plan initially anyway.

eCanada on the other hand seems to be oriented towards Asgard. How long before we too get wiped and consider joining CoT as Australia did to rid ourselves of the nation that wiped us? I think it's only a matter of time but unfortunately too many people want eCanada is Asgard.

What will happen to CoT once nations leave EDEN and join CoT is another question. Obviously with only TWO and CoT on the map they will have to either create a new alliance to have wars with or they will have wars amongst themselves. However, the more important question is what will happen to the nations that aren't CoT or TWO in the meanwhile.

I predict that all nations that are not CoT or TWO will likely get wiped including eCanada by ePoland or eSerbia as they border us but more likely by ePoland which is already experienced at the task.

Well, if everyone strong joins CoT and TWO then they'll just collapse.
