I would like to announce that I intend to run for the presidency this term. I have approached Harrin and he has agreed to join me in this campaign.
Firstly for those of you who may not know me I am a RL South African based in Gauteng. I have been playing eRepublik for close on 2 years now and have been a loyal part of eSa ever since.

I am the current Minister of finance, Deputy Minister of IRC; a member of congress; and I also am co-leader of the Red Army Military unit.

My running partner Harrin has been playing for about the same amount of time, the majority of which has been spent within the ranks of the eSAAF. He has been actively involved within the military and is currently the 2nd in command of the PG. He has also served multiple terms as a cabinet member as MoD, Director of Education and Director of Population Development.

So the next important question is what are our goals?
I think it is important that eSa strengthens and continues our current foreign relations and to this end I will seek to continue the treaty with Brazil. I would also seek to talk about the current situation with the loss of a region and see what we can do to swap the region back with the least cost to us. I have given this some thought and want to see if it would be possible to return the region when our current MPP with them expires so that we don’t lose any of our existing MPP’s. There have been talks about other options we have in terms of region swaps and I think it would benefit us to start exploring these more fully.

In terms of the military I think it is important to note that even though I am a part of a military unit I support a strong and independently run eSaaf. People like Grimstone; Merle Corey; and Miyagiyoda have had a lot of experience running eSaaf and have recently made big changes on the production side of things and I have no reason to want to interfere with them. I would like to see growth in our military and one of the things I would like to explore is closer co-operation between the military Units and eSaaf. Some of this has already taken place and I would like to think that together we can work towards a united military which can help defend our borders and assist our allies in times of need.

In terms of our economy I have recently asked congress to debate a reduction in import taxes. If I am successful in my bid for the presidency I would like to see a reduction in import taxes. The new changes mean that we no longer have as much over production as before and are goods are relatively expensive. A lowering if import taxes would see more goods available at lower prices in eSa. This would in turn mean our people are able to fight more often and would support my goals of a stronger military. As an added bonus the extra income from import taxes would perhaps enable the government to look at extra spending.
