Countries By Civilization In Erepublik
Internetus Internetian
PLEASE NOTE- These are estimates I threw together solely on my own. There very well could be mistakes in number of countries. Western countries were the hardest to determine, due to the fact that they separate themselves on many different factors, yet most adhere to either Latin Catholicism or some form of Protestantism. Islamic countries were the next hardest to decide, because some countries do not have Islam as an official religion yet it is very influential there. Another problem was that there are countries in the Middle East that have been occupied by Muslims, yet the indigenous Christian population is still there. Therefore, a quick assessment on whether to determine whether to classify it as Islamic or Orthodox/Eastern Catholic, was made, and this decision could have easily affected the numbers depending on how these countries were classified. Hindu countries and Buddhist countries were easier to classify. Orthodox countries of course were the easiest to classify. Most statistics were quickly taken by Wikipedia, and therefore mistakes most likely exist. This is just a quick visual to show the differences in numbers of different civilizations represented in erepublik. In the future, a more thorough study may be(if time and circumstances permits) made using more accurate and reliable sources to determine these numbers. This study is to be taken as a mere example of countries in erepublik and not a final conclusive statistic of the state of erepublik countries based on their civilization type.
CIVILATIONS NUMBER IN EREPUBLIK NUMBER IN WORLD RATIO- EREPBULIK VS WORLD
ORTHODOX 10 16 62.50%
WESTERN 39 56 69.43%
ISLAMIC 10 36 27.78%
HINDU 01 04 25.00%
BUDDHIST 05 12 41.67%
As we can see, Western countries have a higher percentage of countries playable in erepublik, and Western countries far out number any other civilization in the world in erepublik. Orthodox and Islamic civilizations are represented at 10 each in erepublik(from rough calculations, numbers could easily be inaccurate). Countries represented by Orthodox civilization in erepublik are completely from the Eastern Orthodox Church. No representation is from the Oriental Orthodox countries or Maronite(Catohlic) country or Assyrian Orthodox peoples. Buddhist civilization is represented at 5 countries in erepublik. Hindu civilization is represented by only a mere 1 country in erebpulik. Western civilization is represented by a enormous 39 countries in erepublik. If you added the countries of all the non-Western civilizations in erepublik that would be 26 countries, still under the 39 countries that exist in erepublik that are Western.
ERROR-
This study was quickly put together to show differences of civilizations represented in erepublik. It is to be assumed that numbers could easily be off a couple numbers due to human recording errors. Furthermore, Wikipedia was the main sore to compile this information, therefore further errors could exist due to inaccurate or incomplete information.
CONCLUSION
Erepublik needs to add more Orthodox countries to be represented on erepublik. Oriental Orthodox countries need to be added as well for balance of representation of Orthodox civilization. Erepublik also needs to add countries of other civilizations as well on erepublik to balance the game better.

These numbers were quickly thrown together in less then 30 minutes. I am hoping to get a point across of how many Western countries there are to non-Western countries. I hope to in the future, if possible, to spend more time and put together a more through, more accurate, and less error filled study together of this data.
ΚΥΠΡΟΣ ΣΕΡΒΙΑ ΟΡΘΟΔΟΞΙΑ, αυτό έχω να πω μόνο τέλος
civilization 😕= religion...
Where religion grows, civilization dies. Check your arguments again
Change the word "civilization" with the word "religion".
It is a mistake to identify religion as civilization and vice versa.
What about atheists? They are Neanderthals? They live on trees still? No civilized people?

Most civilizations can be grouped by religious history, culture, and identity. For instance the Western World is mostly those countries that were under Rome(Latin Catholicism). The Eastern World is those that were Orthodox. I know Armenians who are non-believers, yet they still identify as Armenian Christian for cultural, social, ethnic, and national reasons. Other political scientists have also used religious identity and culture to identify different civilizations. I am sure you probably know Greeks that are non-believers yet they call themselves Greek Christian.
Countries that belong to the so called "western" civilization, are not all identified as Christian countries. Also countries that have developed unique civilization and culture in the orient, are not always identified as muslim or buddhist or hindu. For example eastern culture of the Philippines is based on their own Malay tradition and not on their forced Catholicism (by the conquerors Spaniards), even more, ou have made a mistake classifying them as muslim "civilization" when they are predominantly Catholics....
In short, when you talk about civilization, you cannot only base it on religion. Civilization is the result of tradition, religion, language, blah blah blah...
What Makedonissa said. Besides when you say that "Hindu civilization is represented by only a mere 1 country in erepublik" you make it sound like there are a dozen of hindu countries to choose from. Aside from India there is only one other hindu country: Nepal.
Aside of the whole religion aspect, the point of the game is to be competitive not to assure equal representation. Adding countries just for the sake of diversity would result in situation like those of South Africa, Northen Korea, Egipt, and many other countries that are the playing ground of their neighbors. Imagine adding Suriname to the game (oddly for me 20% hindu country).
You committed a big ehrmm HUGE mistake
