Christmas Debacle

Day 1,131, 08:57 Published in South Africa South Africa by OKayOK

Well, everyone seems to be calming down about the Hun deal. I have tried to remain neutral as possible during the whole "Christmas Debacle" and I think it is high time that I have my say on the matter.

When I first heard about the deal I expressed my disapproval directly to the president. I have no trust in the deal, and I believe that it is a travesty to what we as a country has always stood for.

Secondly, my name is mentioned on the contract. I would like everyone to know that I object to my name being placed on that piece of garbage. I attended one meeting regarding this and it was only to ascertain and judge the attitude of the Huns. I did not agree to, or sign into this contract.

Why I believe it is garbage
It is immoral: the contract represents both a bribe and a reward for people that have oppressed us, cheated their way into power and stolen monies that rightfully belong to the people of eSA. Agreeing to the contract opens us and other small nations up to PTO and it makes it more rewarding for them to do so.

It is Risky: the contract has no means of being enforced. The Huns have successfully closed the doors on the Brazilian solution. So, they got what they want, which is one more month of occupation uncontested, should they want it. As we speak, there is a Hun money transfer being voted on. The Huns have ordered their minions to vote no, but behold, the Huns are voting yes. So we have Huns that show no interest in listening to their leaders who formulated the deal.

It is illegal: I knew about the deal as a Minister, but as a congressman, I was waiting for the deal to be proposed. It never came. I honestly thought that congress would have not let the deal pass and I would have applauded them for that. If congress vote no on the proposal (which I initiated discussion on yesterday after seeing the deal had been enacted) and money is still transferred from the resistance reserve then the players that signed the contract as guilty of theft as the Huns, and should henceforth be considered enemies of the country. I know this sounds harsh, but it is a simple fact. Congress exists for this very reason and due process should not be ignored. Also, before any payment is made, the vote has to run for 24 hours and the speaker has of yet not initiated the vote, so no money for the Huns for at least another 24 hours.

I support my president and would like to stand by his side, but after waiting for 24 hours for an address from him regarding the recent issues and eventually getting a dismal excuse for an address, I will no longer stand by his side on this issue.
