Join the new world

One week ago, on a Thursday, the fifth of June, i typed in "political games" in my search box. It was for me the acquaintance of a new game, eRepublik. Hereby i will present you my newspaper: A Bastion of Truth, and my first article. In this article i will give you an introduction of me, my personal ambitions and the goal of this newspaper. I'd like to welcome you to my newspaper page, and I'll hope you will enjoy this article, and the next ones 😃

Spir Tus

My name is Spir Tus and I am the owner of this new newspaper. As I've mentioned in the introduction, I am eight days old in this game and full of ambitions. I have a great interest in Politics and Diplomacy. My real name is Bas or Sebastian, 21 years old and I'm Dutch. My personal goal is to achieve a position in the eNL congress. When the time has come, and I learned a lot more of this game, and the community, I would like to have a seat in congress and do my job for the community and this country. This won't be in the up coming months.

If you start this game, you have to chose a 'citizen name' for yourself. I thought you need a proper citizen name, with a family name and all. I was wrong 😛 If I knew, I had picked another name. Spir tus or Spirtus (as my name in other games is sometimes) is a bad translations of 'Sprietje' in Latin. Sprietje was my old nickname on primary school, and it's a blade of grass (I was tall and skinny). Usually my name in games is Sprietje or Spirtus, but here I have chosen for a space in between.

The Newspaper

In the last couple of days I went on a search for information about this game, the rules and the structure of the community. I did research on the important people of eNL and was trying to understand the law they made. This newspaper will be in the first place a report of my research and my conclusions. In the future this newspaper will criticize the system, and be useful for people with power to change things if needed. I'm not making this newspaper to change the community, or undermine the system, I have created this newspaper to discuss certain things and to let people know how things work in eNL.

The name of this newspaper is A Bastion of Truth. I'm referring to old system and community of eNL. The aim is not to break the community, but serve it and to be a watchdog for the community. Breaking the Bastion means to break the lies of the bastion and revealing the truth behind. I'm not claiming there is power abuse or there are any lies in eNL. The name of this newspaper also refers to my real name, Bas.

This newspaper is trying to stay objective. Recently, I have joined a party, the DemNL party, but I'll criticize or praise them just like any other party. Because I am new, my first articles will be value-neutral, but I'll warn you for the future: It is possible that I'll lose my objectivity and outside view of the community.

Maybe the goal of this newspaper is vague to you. I will promise it will be clear to you soon. In the next couple of days, or maybe next week, I will publish a second article. This time there will be no content about the newspaper or other shit, but the article is about the political system and upcoming Law Change.
