Beginners Guide to eRepublik

Day 1,366, 04:25 Published in South Africa Brazil by Crumoet

Welcome to eRepublik and more importantly welcome to eSouth Africa! So it is your first day and I would like to help you get started in the game.
First of all you need a job if you click on the 3rd drop down tab the one that says Market you can see the job market. In your first few days you will want to take the top paying job. Now that you have a job you need to work. Click on the “my land” tab and go into your land. You should see several buildings. Click on the first one to work. You should see that you have made produce for your employer and that you have received a salary for your efforts. If you look you can also see some other buildings. For a full explanation of building types have a look here:

Daily Tasks:
You need to work and train daily in order to progress in eRepublik!!! If you do you will receive 5 gold for every 30 days you work and 5 gold for every 250 strength that you gain.

If you look you are able to build different training buildings and as a new player I would recommend you stay away from these at first. Boosting your strength costs gold and as a new player you need to be saving your gold for other things like buying your own companies.
If you look you will have some of the buildings on your land already. You should click on these buildings to 1st restore them and then work in each of your buildings now. If you do this you will also complete the 1st and 2nd mission in the game

Mission 1: Join the rebuilding effort
The economy is in turmoil and new companies have emerged. Use your land and start building an economic empire to become a powerful citizen and help your country.

Requirements
 Have 3 Grain Farms
 Have 1 Food Factory
You will find some buildings on your Land.
Rewards
 +2 experience points
 +5 Citizenship Currency

Mission 2: The daily bread
Time to start production! Being healthy is all about proper alimentation and now you can make your own Food. Later on, you could sell it and make some extra bucks, this would help you develop over time!
Requirements
 Work in a Grain Farm
 Work in a Food Factory
 Have 20 Food in storage
First, work on your Grain Farms to produce Food Raw Materials. Then, work in your Food Factory to turn the raw materials into proper Food.
Rewards
 +2 experience points
 +10 Q1 food

Ok so now you need to collect these rewards. Often they will pop open and you can collect immediately otherwise if you look on the left hand side of your screen you will see it says missions and you can click on each mission there to see how far you have progressed as well as to collect the rewards.
If you listened earlier and trained you will also have done Mission 3. If you did not go back to your land and train. I will be including the 1st 6 missions so you can get the hang of what you need to do

Mission 3: We are all warriors
In this new and dangerous world your country needs the strongest warriors in order to defend itself or conquer new territories. All must help now and the strength of a warrior is measured first of all by his Military Skill.
Requirements
 Train for the first time.
You can build up your strength by going daily to the Training Area.
Rewards
 +2 experience points
 +5 strength

Mission 4: Offense is the best defense
It's easier to take down enemies when you have a good weapon than with your bare hands.
Requirements
 Have a weapon in your inventory.
The Marketplace offers a great variety of weapons.
Rewards
 +2 experience points
 1 Q1 weapon
 Also remember you could either buy a weapon or ask a more experienced player if they will help you with one. I will explain more about this later

Mission 5: A future Hero
Its time for you to help your motherland survive and thrive in the new world by solving conflicts the pragmatic way... destroy them all.
Requirements
 Take down 5 opponents
On the Battlefield there are plenty of enemies to attack. Join a battle and destroy 5 enemy soldiers by bringing their health to 0.
Rewards
 +2 experience points
 +1 Energy bar
 Please remember not to use gold to fight! Fighting working and training all use health and you can only restore a certain amount of health in one sitting. You need to make sure you have enough food to eat after fighting so that you can work tomorrow. If you run out you can always buy form the marketplace.

Mission 6: Image matters
When interacting with the citizens of the new world (friends, co-workers, comrades, voters, etc) your image will be worth a thousand words.
Requirements
 Have a profile picture.
Upload a photo or image that will define how your citizen looks from the Edit profile page.
Rewards
 +2 experience points

You probably won’t be able to finish all of these mission on day 1 so rather wait to come back to them. Mission 6 gives you an energy bar which will restore your health to full. You may want to work fight and train down all the way to 0 health before eating it.
In the process of doing this you should have levelled up and been rewarded with gold. SAVE your gold you will need it later on.

OK so you are running low on food you have done as much as you can on day 1 but what is going on in eSouth Africa? You could go look at a media article if you look on your screen below military campaigns you will see:

News categories
First steps in eRepublik Battle orders Warfare analysis Political debates and analysis Financial business Social interactions and entertainment Newspaper subscriptions

These will often help you to understand better what is going on but your best bet is to join the eSouth Africa forums which can be seen here: http://www.forums.erepubliksa.com/ you can sign up and start meeting some of the locals. You could also join http://forums.erepubliksa.com/irchat/ which is linked to the eSouth Africa IRC room. This is a great place to chat to other citizens and ask for help. This is what makes the game special. The player interactions and the best 2 places to find them are above!
So if you have taken the time to browse through the drop down menus on the top of the screen you may have noticed another few options that you will need to keep in mind. Once you reach level 14 you will be able to join a political party and you will also be able to vote when elections come around. There are 3 types of elections: 1. Party president to choose the leader of the party for the month. 2: Congress elections to decide who the community elected members are who make decisions on taxes and country alliances as well as war declarations. 3 Country president to decide who will lead the country for the month. All of these terms last a month and if you want to get involved you need to start meeting people. Joining up at the
forums is the best place to start!

The other option you need to consider is to whether to join a military unit or not. You should look at all of your options and learn as much about the requirements of the unit and whether they help supply you or not. A good place to start would always be http://www.erepublik.com/en/main/group-show/852 or http://forums.erepubliksa.com/esaaf which is the national army. This is a great place for a new player to get started

So now you have the basics of how the game works. I would suggest that you talk to other players about how to use your gold. Often in the early stages you want to produce materials which you can sell on the market to start making more money. The economy changes frequently so rather ask before you make the mistake of building the wrong type of company. Just remember you need raw materials in order to produce goods so you may want to start by selling raw materials instead of a finished product like food or weapons.
If you are stuck or need help ask one of the more experienced players. eSouth Africa is full of helpful players who are willing to lend a hand.

Welcome once again,

Regards
