Article and Comment Timer

Hi kids!
I was supposed to write another article about my history and direction in this game. Well, I've gotten sidetracked. No surprise there. However now another disturbing turn of events makes me write this article.
I am taking no chances writing it. I am 'right click / copying every minute or so. "Why?", you ask. Because Admin has added a new feature to the Media Mod. If you haven't noticed yet, and you wouldn't if you only write short, quick comments to newspapers, there is a timer on how long you may write. It appears to be about 2 minutes. (I've not verified that, it is an estimate.)
Some may 'hate' long boring comments. I can understand that. I hope you can understand that sometimes it take a bit to write a thoughtful, complete and accurate comment to respond to an article or other commentator. Admin does not wish this. He first limited comment length. So now it takes 2 or 3 comments to complete a complex thought. Now he puts a time limit to use those few words he has allowed us.
UPDATE: Just discovered there is about a 10 minute limit on writing an article also. (Again an estimate.) Be sure to copy everything often and/or make use of MS Notepad.
I don't remember logging in to Twitter to play in the eRep media. If all that we are allowed is 'tweets' then maybe we should give up and stick with Twitter.

Ya know your recent 'update' to the media mod is a very good idea...
If you just want to frustrate the shit out of people who still actually make worthwhile comment. What are you thinking? eRep is NOT FACEBOOK! Everything does not have to be contained in a two sentence snippet. I have made the decision that I shall write my comment in MS Notepad and then copy/paste into the comment box.
If you try to screw that up I will quit using the media mod at all except to bitch in my news paper.
I also see that your stupid "Knowledgebase Suggestion" says "Newspaper - Relevance: 100%". I do not care to read your canned response telling me how this is good for me.

If I were to write any longer, I'd have to use the "Notes" app on my iPhone.
10 minute timer on writing articles is pretty freaking stupid considering how much work some people put into them. Not exactly a fly-by-night business.
So how does it "log" me out but yet I'm still "logged" in after the screen refresh that removes my comment? I can immediately start writing another comment or article. This has frustrated me into hurriedly re-writing a comment for the third or forth time with errors and admissions.
BTW, if you are talking about the "log out" that happens after anywhere for m 10 to 20 minutes of inactivity, I am fully aware of that. It is common practice for most servers to boot you after so many minutes.
I have the game remember my info on my computer, so I don't get logged out after x-amount of time.
This is not a "logged out" issue. there is a timer that deletes your half written comments by refreshing the page (article) while you are writing. Try it and see. Write a few words in the comment box but do not post them, then wait awhile. The page will blink and then refresh with an empty comment box.
OK, it took about 15 minutes this time, but eRep still deleted my comment.
I have typed this and posted without reloading eRep.
Seems like admins added a new feature that refreshes every 15 mins or so to make sure you're still active (maybe to update posts and stuff too), then logs you out if you're not. And of course the refresh will clear any text field. Maybe it's glitching, or maybe its cycle is based on the game clock so sometimes it seems like a few mins and sometimes it's the 15, depending on where you are in the cycle. Whatever it is, it doesn't seem intentional and appears to be a side-effect.
As a citizen who loves making long comments, I really think that it s*cks.
Soon, the concept itself of this game will be resumed in a tweet....

Yeah this is bull but nothing surprising, the comment thing sucks, but as for articles I don't know anyone who actually writes those ig, I've lost too many that way : p
If you are logged on in another tab and you change the page here and there, you'll be fine. That's what I do so I can include profile links and stuff like that in my article.
I tried copying and pasting an article, it disappeared, started over and it disappeared again, to do the cut and paste I had two tabs opened in the game.
I am here for the community, guess the Admins figure to destroy it(community) and silence it's(Admins) critics
Honestly, i normally just hammer out a direct stream-o'-thought , so even if its long, its done in seconds.
I guess that's bad : /

I'm not sure of exactly how long this timer is. I don't intend to research it either, but it is there. This has nothing to do with eRep logging you off after an extended period. That is very old news. I was none to happy when they implemented that either, but do understand why they did it. Thousands of people logged in to eRep going to dinner and leaving the game running!
This however is just an effort to censor content. To make the game quicker, more streamlined.

2.Tipe your comment
3.Select it and copy it
4.Paste it in the comment box
Done.

Simple.. Comments are generally inflammatory either about the game, the players, new "features", politics, the economy, or, the article itself. By limiting the time you have to write comments, people are less likely to post an actually commentary on the topic out of fear that their work will magically disappear after a few minutes.
Its a brilliant marketing ploy.

So I'm writing stuff here and uh, when does the timer start? I don't know how long I can go but I'll keep pushing forward and making run-on sentences and actually that reminds me that maybe admin should stop people from making run-on sentences cuz I mean they are just the worst, don't you agree?

This is also for messages. I was cut off and had to start over twice while sending a lengthy message yesterday. I ended up having to open microsoft word and copy/paste every new paragraph into it as to not lose the whole message again.
Those aren't the only pages where refreshing happens.
