An Introspective Journey: Hold The Hypocrisy, Please.

Day 1,907, 21:08 Published in Canada Canada by Bryan Alexander

Well, this article initially started as a comment response to the article
Yesterday and Tomorrow recently written by MDP PP Leo Balzac.

My initial reactions as I began to read this article were rather positive. Could my eyes be deceiving me? Was Leo actually admitting that Rylde's vanity was a intrinsic cause of his being bumped from the nomination?
Of course, we all know that his leaving the party, and in-game deadlines were what kept him off the ballot - but could we be getting an objective article from a member of political party?
Saying the nomination system had ancient/archaic rules was a bit of a stretch, but a liberty allowed all the same.

Could the rift that formed over the past month or so in eCanada be coming to a close through an open, honest, hard hitting article? I saw the light at the end of the tunnel...

...until I tripped and fell over the same roadblock that has prevented any sense of real party cooperation in the past several weeks - libel.

I got to the 2nd paragraph only to read this gem:

"With CW supporting the Colonel, IPC decided to jump on board as well, since their hatred for MDP is well known (the party is comprised of those who couldn't make it in MDP and so had to go to a new party to achieve the 'power' they crave)."

P.S Leo, IPC supported Rylde in his election in the first term, so not sure if their 'hate' is well known for that matter.

Why Leo!? Why! You started so well, only to lose me at this statement.

You go on to say that we're left with half a CP, and a congress that can't really agree on anything.

If I may quote Foxfire's response to this article,
"Worst in the whole game and do a good job of driving people completely out of the country. Take ownership for once MDP. You have some really good people but you also have some really bad ones."

As a CPF member, I may be inclined to agree with this statement. I considered giving it the good 'ole x2 and slap it down as a response. However, by doing that I was just perpetuating this cycle of finger pointing that has currently gripped our small nation of 1400.

I found it ironic that even in a state of defeat (debatable I suppose, but this election was all but decided before everything went to hell) the MDP finds a way to berate other parties in articles filled with massive amount of bias.

Statements such as "the party is comprised of those who couldn't make it in MDP and so had to go to a new party to achieve the 'power' they crave" just add yet another layer of hypocrisy onto complaints that congress/parties cannot agree on anything. Is it any wonder that parties won't co-operate when articles are essentially 90% slander, 10% filler?

Alas, I wish I could say that Leo's was the only article that made me breathe a heavy sigh.

Quimbie Muffin's The Political Pitfalls of Apathy - while much more honest - also seemed to aim the finger of blame away from the source.

He begins:

"Well here were eCanada, about to possibly elect a multi for President. How could this happen?"

Well, according to Quimbie:

eCanada’s 2nd largest party couldn’t even find a suitable candidate to run against Rylde.

And later on:

But shame on Clan Wolf, especially its leader for blindly supporting a multi.

Had there been any real opposition, say from the CPF, to Rylde’s candidacy, had this CP election been an engaging one from the start, maybe there’d have been an intriguing 2nd option, an easy second choice. But no, eCanada’s largest opposition party decided to sit this one out. Its number 3 and 4 parties’ blind allegiance to the ‘rules’ saw them get duped into picking a multi/lulz candidate.

And ending with:

"No matter who wins this election, oinyo and Clan Wolf are decidedly the losers."

Oh....but I am not done just yet.

In Crisfire's article, A Review for the IPC and CW, as well as Clan Wolf is Finger Licking Colonel Sanders Crisfire has a paragraph that not only summarizes both of his articles, but really puts a nail in the coffin for what I had hoped to be the resurrection of common courtesy, tact, and even self-respect.

"Is it me or will the Imperial Party of eCanada and Clan Wolf support anyone that isn’t Rylde regardless of their plans that seem to change daily and offer eCanada the world. You guys checked your order before leaving the KFC drive thru right?.....right?

But wait Rylde is off the ticket becuase of a glitch or a Herpes flare up

what to do, what to do

The icing on the cake though is it seems that Colonel Sanders is another citizen controlled by VenomsIII a staunch and active member of the MDP…oh the humanity!

This is what happens when the MDP candidate gets a Venereal Disease
The CPF cant muster up a candidate of their own
and IPC and CW will support a virtually unknown player that blows sunshine up thier asses
"

Even my party, the CPF is not free from scrutiny. I will not attempt to make any claims of our own objectivity, so I am damning the CPF along with the rest of you.
Just about every one of Jaffle's articles leading up to the CPF primary falls under the same level of disappointment; I mean...Funky is a walking cynic - love it or hate it - nobody is exempt here.

So what is the purpose of this rant, you may ask?

Disbelief.

I find it hard to believe that we as a community are blind to the level of self destruction and hypocrisy that we are contributing to on a massive level:

We preach about how we are fed up with ineffective congress groups, yet we take every liberty possible to try and put all the other parties down.

A player with a different opinion used to promote debate and discussion, but now it only brings on insults.

Mistakes in a game are essentially non consequential, yet we are quick to point out how infallible we are.

I think any perceptive player can pick up on the tension that exists between parties.
This past election should prove it; parties essentially supporting a multi out of spite; the "anybody but him" mentality.

How did we get here eCanada?

Is the quality of the party really decided by the number of members?
Can you accomplish more before, or after you call opposing parties morons?
Must party loyalty override respect and affability?

As of late, it would seem all of the above are true. In the battle for superiority, we all forget that

“If you want to make peace with your enemy, you have to work with your enemy. Then he becomes your partner."
- Nelson Mandela
