An Exercise in Futility - Presidential Platform

We have an election coming up, and usually this would be an exciting time for the country as we all sit down and decide what we are going to offer the country. If all things are in order, and our policies align with the beliefs and feelings of the populace, we get given the honor, in a fair and free election to serve our country.

Obviously this is not the case this election. Whether there is an election or not, a single party holds the fate of our community in their hands like it or not. Even if ATO decides not to contest this election, they still hold the power to control how our community grows, how our community presents itself to the world and the fate of every single one of us.

I stand for president under the HOPE banner once again. The futility of this is not lost on me. I stand not to win, because to win is to lose in a one party state. I stand for the highest office in the land as a statement of objection to the continued callous suppression of our communities' freedoms. HOPE is here and HOPE is not going anywhere.

I promise as a candidate that I will always put your interests first. We continue the fight, we network, we find sympathetic voices, we recruit strong, capable players to fight for us and with us. One day we will have the strength to take back this country…. No, this family from the clutches of tyranny and I promise that for my part and that of my fellow compatriots, we will never let a coup take hold of our very fabric again.

The time is coming, fellow citizens. Now is the perfect time to voice your objection to the continued dictatorship that has gutted this country. They can take our liberties, our political voice but they can never take our anonymity at the poll.

Use your secret voice to send a message to our lofty leaders that the time for normality is now and that the continued dictatorship is wearing thin. Even if you all vote for me and there is a resounding shout for freedom, you know that I would immediately be impeached. So if you don't fully agree with me, or you are uncomfortable with some of my beliefs, I am not putting any of that forward in this platform for the Presidency. The only thing I want to achieve is DEMOCRACY. If you are cool with DEMOCRACY, what do you have to lose? Let us send a United voice of opposition, let our voices be heard.

Is that your official party position, because I offered to leave? Your lofty leader did not even bother to answer me when I wrote that. So if I am the only one keeping democracy from happening in this country, would that mean the the dictatorship is now not Curlys fault, perhaps due to dereliction of duty? Not like it was ever my fault to be honest, I mean, we only won the election by a single vote. A single vote is all it took for ATO to remove democracy in the first place. I would be interested in you thoughtful insight into why you believe the coup happened.

You see fellow compatriots, this is a prime example of the ATO mindset right there. Samb1985 lacks social grace in his execution of what he is trying to say, but the message is there. I, as an opposition figure have to leave for democracy to return. You can almost picture a hand raised at a 45 degree angle from his body pointing his figure tips towards his leader Curly and he says: "Belgium First!"

Samb1985 is a product of his parties indoctrination on this subject. Never has he ever bothered to engage me in intelligent debate, or frankly even asked for my side of the story.

So, end of the day, Samb1985 illustrates the ATO position that getting rid of opposition is worth sacrificing democracy on the alter of the "great leaders" undemocratic ideals. This show me that ATO, where the players are real are stuck in a cycle of sycophant fantasy.
