Erepublik Defence & Economy Network (abbr. "EDEN", aka. "The Brotherhood") is a military alliance consisting of thirteen (13) countries and popularly accepted as the successor to ATLANTIS due to its high concentration of former ATLANTIS members and its inherited anti-PEACE sentiments.



Originally, EDEN did not have an official charter nor any treaties establishing the alliance. This was due to their belief that treaties "are a formality" and their goal is to "do things properly" which included dissociating themselves with governments.However, after a joint EDEN/Fortis victory in the invasion of North America, an official treaty was drawn up creating the alliance.



After Sweden attacked Germany, ATLANTIS dissolved. EDEN was one of two post-ATLANTIS anti-PEACE alliances, the other being Fortis. However, Fortis never materialized as the proposed members became complacent with the negotiations. Eventually most of the Fortis nations joined EDEN as members. However, even before this the nations were united in an effort to concentrate their efforts and establish one major anti-PEACE alliance which became the model for EDEN as it exists currently--albeit with the notable exemption of the UK and Germany, which joined forces with PEACE.



EDEN at first claimed to be a "brotherhood of nations"(as opposed to a regular military alliance), though its formal establishment by the signing of the Treaty of EDEN during the late September 2009 rendered any real grounds for this claim immaterial.
On November 29th, 2009, the USA joined EDEN, bringing the nation count to 12.
When Australia was attacked by former PHOENIX member Brazil they joined EDEN.
On March 31st, 2010, USA left EDEN.
On 7th of October, 2010, Italy joined EDEN.
On January 21st 2011, Bulgaria joined EDEN.
On January 23rd, 2011, Poland left EDEN.
On February 5th, 2011, Spain left EDEN.
On March 9th, 2011, Ireland joined EDEN.
On March 15th, 2011, Ukraine joined EDEN.
On April 12th, 2011, Sweden left EDEN.
On July 15th, 2011, Bosnia & Herzegovina left EDEN.
