A Soldier's Song
ChewChewShoe
Dear Ireland,
Many years ago, Ireland was a place of determination and unity, a nation whose citizens were unyielding in the face of terror, a nation whose citizens pledged to cast aside their petty differences for the greater good of the fine community they partook in. Since those times, we have descended to great instability, continuous incompetence and great pretense, we have faltered and thrown away that which once made our fair isle so precious.
Recently this self-inflicted vanity and weakness climaxed in the plundering of our treasuries by the former dictator and country president Kuthesh, and ever since a great deal of explanations for this occurring has plagued our nation, causing even greater instability and disunity among our ranks.
From a land beyond the wave
Sworn to be free
In spite of blame being passed between a great deal of citizens of our nation regarding the failures to secure Ireland’s prosperity, there is but one group that can solely take the blame for our disastrous situation: The people of Ireland, as a whole, with not a single exception.
It is evidential that a great deal of our citizenry are more concerned with their own appearance than the well-being of our nation, yet I say we forgive them and move past our petty feuds. What once made Ireland so great is the very same thing many people blame for our failures today; a most diverse community, consisting of people of all creeds, of all backgrounds.
We ought not to retort to such petty squabbles as to whom has the highest right to rule, but instead to unite against the forces of destruction and evil that is tearing our community apart. For too long have we obsessed over inconsequential matters, and have forgotten what is actually important; what we are ready to create and what we are ready to pass on to future generations. Through allowing our diverse community to be that which it truly is I believe we can find Ireland’s prospects once more turning bright. Do not disregard your fellow citizen so easily, give them your trust, give them your help, give them your energy and your inner fire, and Ireland once more shall find exceptionalism.
In the words of Charles de Montesquieu, I say unto you: "The Tyranny of a prince in an oligarchy is not so dangerous to the public welfare as the apathy of a citizen in a democracy."
Shall shelter the despot or the slave
The most precious thing we have is our sovereignty, our liberty, our independence. Never shall we surrender these unto anyone without a fight. Never shall we simply let tyrants walk all over us. Never shall we voluntarily give up our most precious freedom for a little temporary safety. The continuation of our democratic instances is the most important task that stands before the generation at hand. Foreign tyrants may boast about their power, about their wealth and about their imperial ambitions, but we have one weapon so much more powerful than anything they could ever muster against us: The self-determination of the Irish people. Through unity and through conviction we shall fight for our land in any way we can with an uncompromising determination to remain free; for such is our duty, such is our destiny.
Never must you brush aside your fellow citizen, in Ireland, nay in our Ireland we reject the ideas of oligarchy and tyranny, and instead celebrate the great principles of equality through unity. For this to continue I implore you, each and every one of you, to think of how you treat your fellow man or woman. Do not divide our community by raising one man to a position of despotism or degrading another to the pits of servitude.
In Erin's cause, come woe or weal
’Mid cannon's roar and rifles' peal
We'll chant a soldier's song
I have been led to shape the conviction that regardless of the size of the foe opposing us, a united Ireland can never be defeated. When we are at peace internally no blow from the outside can wound us. As such, I beg you to unite for the sake of our dear Ireland, our dear community, and everything that it stands for. We have fallen into chaos now, but fear not, for chaos is no mere depth of hell from which there is no return. Chaos is nothing but an opportunity to organize and climb, to seek the stars and be born anew. Ireland must come to the realization that nothing may stop us unless we allow it to break us. And so I ask you not to bow down and surrender when a punch, regardless of its strength, hits you, but instead rise again, with more experience, with greater ability to prevent additional blows.
We are the anvil & the hammer.
We are the sword & the pen.
We are thunder and we are lightning.
We are fire, yet we are water.
We are earth, yet we are wind.
As of now, I will leave you with this quote:
"Power in defense of freedom is greater than power in behalf of tyranny and oppression, because power, real power, comes from our conviction which produces action, uncompromising action." -Malcom X
Sincerely,

pack a bowl this article earned it
im just voting the pack a bowl part
Working on it.
Very much agree Chew.
If we are one nation then we accept the praise when earned and the scorn when deserved.
Aye, I'm releasing an article soon myself. Just realize it's pretty similar to this, ecstatic to read something like this.
chew chew is the vote all you really need....
where is the money you stole you thief?
Why do you continue with this....I thought you stopped all this nonsense trolling. I didn't steal any money I have never stole any money that would defeat my purpose for playing. nor would I even buy gold with real money as I would consider that cheating as well. Most of the BS ways you players self advance yourself is done completely without honor at the very least questionable morality. As for you if you must tear down another player to advance yourself or to make yourself look more appealing or whatever reason you do it. Ive sadi it before you should be doing this to our enemies.
There was 2.4 mil+ when appleman left when DC started there was 1.1 mil left. This is not considered trolling anymore but a commonly held belief.
An excellent article.
And a great quote by a great man at the end.
^.^
Couldn't have said it better myself, but aye you'll get a response in my next article mate. Voted + endorsed
Chaos is a ladder.

H'on Chewie o7
Chewie's first election speech 😉 War always used to unite the country, but we're currently drifting with no real goals, hence the infighting that we're seeing, which has always been present. We probably need to decide where the future lies for the country.
Oh god no, I'm far too lazy to be president again. 🙂
We (eIrlenad) are at a cross-roads
But so is the game....
I can spell Ireland... honestly I can

ahh an article form the The Grand Voyage. Last time I saw an article from this newspaper it was admitting that you stole all of eUK's money...good times.... though it puts all those who oppose thievery of any kind against you...unless they are hypocritical opportunists... Don, An Sluagh etc etc
my vote.
“If only we wanted to be happy, it would be easy; but we want to be happier than other people, which is difficult, since we think them happier than they are.”
― Montesquieu
When will you be stealing the treasury?
I would need to be the president for that.
Oh right. Silly me.
Silly you indeed bro
