29th Congress Peer Review & Activity Levels
eUSA Congress
Greetings, citizens of the eUS!
Unfortunately, this is both the first and last issue that will be published for the 29th Congress. However, this issue is a very important one, as it is about how well your elected Congressmen are doing.
So let's start with the Congressional PEER Reviews:
A form was sent to all Congressmen to fill out, rating their fellow Congressmen on a scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being the best. There was also the option to not rate a given senator. The form included all senators elected in April, even including the ones who resigned or were banned. 40 senators out of 58 decided to participate in rating their peers, and the full results (including which party the senator was elected under) can be found here, but here are some highlights:

2. APF - 3.05
3. UIP - 2.91
4. Libs - 2.80
5. Feds - 2.53
Big thanks to rainy sunday for compiling these rankings. See her article here
For another indicator of a Congressman's quality, we can look at their activity on certain votes. Recently, two votes were taken, one on each of two different versions of a controversial Constitutional amendment. This amendment concerned the President's authority over the military, and was heavily discussed on the eUS forums.
The vote for the first version can be found here.
The vote for the second version can be found here.
Now, you might notice that there is a significant difference in the number of people who voted on the first version (39), and the number who voted on the second version (27). The difference can be seen here (NOTE: That spreadsheet only contains those senators who signed in at the beginning of the term, and have not resigned or been banned).
The people who did not vote on either version of the bill:
* AlexBerkman
* Clonesean9
* Iasov
* Indrae
* Jon Konning
* Mourning Star
* Myles Robinson
* Reng
* Robert Grosseteste
* SGGHays
* Syrup
Keep these figures and statistics in mind tomorrow when voting for Congressional candidates. If someone is not rated highly, or did not show up for the most important vote of the term, maybe they aren't the candidate you want to see returning.
-Speaker of the House,
Fionia

holy shit a congress article!
^This
Nice article.
Congrats to Mr H for being the most popular kongressman.
I feel horrible about not being able to vote on the constitutional measures. Please let it be known however, that in the time these were voted on I was either moving into a new apartment, in the hospital seeing my dad, or in the hospital going under exploratory surgery myself.
Sorry,
Robbie
I'll work towards being top 10 this month.
Interesting stats! If we weren't fighting in Liaoning right now, I'd shout it. XD
I would have been happy to see "abstain" rather than nothing at all.
Thanks for taking the time to inform us
Yay Rainy!
Rainy ftw
Rainy, I appreciate your work with this article. Congressional Peer Reviews can be annoying to finish, but it's very cool for all congressmen and some citizens IMO.
Also, I got #20; I'm pretty above average \o/
There is some inaccurate information on your gdoc; Alex Lorre, TheMerican and Clonesean9 are SFP, yet their scores were factored into the UIP's average 😕
Glad to see the article posted on activity. Having been in Congress for four terms that is one of the largest problems.
Kazeal- The parties listed on the doc were the parties that candidates were elected under, as I thought I made clear. It doesn't account for 6th parties.
"A form was sent to all Congressmen to fill out, rating their fellow Congressmen on a scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being the best."
I wonder if there are any petty people that simply vote 1 because they don't like the person.
1. SEES - 3.65
OH YEAH
"I wonder if there are any petty people that simply vote 1 because they don't like the person."
It's possible. But where there were over 30 people rating each senator, it's questionable whether that would have *too* much of an effect.
