Join the new world

Hello there eUK citizens.

Today we bring you a very special article. Throughout eRepublik history the UK has been a part of many direct wars against a lot of the countries surrounding us AND some that are in reality halfway across the map. Today with help from Dishmcds we've been able to tell the story of eUK from Early V1 up until the end. Later on we'll go into detail about what happened in the UK from V2 to the current day. I hope you enjoy reading this little history article. 🙂

Operation French Toast: (This was the operation in which a number of countries (including the UK) surrounding France hit at the exact same time. A lot has changed since those days though. 🙂

The first day of Operation French Toast went off smashingly well. The goal, for the UK, was the region of Lower Normandy, with Medium Iron. While it wasn’t all that great, it was more than what the UK had to begin with. Between Spain, the US, Sweden, and Canada all invading, the UK took their region with relative ease. The next few battles for the UK were mainly for damage drains, as Canada went shit up and stopped invading (mainly because Spain had to use their mobiles to help Canada win even one battle), and Spain lost focus trying to invade Italy, Portugal, and France all at the same time. Sweden was probably the longest remaining member of ATLANTIS to stay in France, but the UK tasted victory just a little bit before it got it’s taste of defeat.

Operation HAHAHAHAHAHA (This is the Story of when we region swapped all the way to the other side of the eWorld. PEACE AT HOME. PEACE IN THE WORLD.)

Some background on the UK going through Russia, the United States, after failing miserably at invading Mexico, decided it would try to invade the last two of its neighbours that hadn’t been invaded, being Portugal and Russia. Russia had High Iron, which the US wanted, but they also wanted to get through to the Chinese region of Hellokitty, which was currently under occupation of Iran. In order to better divvy out it’s resources, Phoenix (at the time, PEACE) was going to split up the Chinese colonies, with Karnataka going to Indonesia, Iran retaining Jharkand, and Hungary going into hellokitty. The US spent more than 4,000 Gold on tanking alone (which at the time was a lot of gold), which was probably a record for any one country in any one battle. They still lost.

When the UK decided to join PEACE, they saw a unique opportunity. The UK still carried MPPs from most of it’s former allies, and didn’t have the stack of PEACE MPPs which would have made it impossible to declare war. PEACE waited for the right opportunity, and then had the UK declare war onto Russia via an MPP declaration (I can’t remember which country we used to open it), and then bridged the UK all the way through Russia, North Korea, and then Iran to take hellokitty. The United Kingdom, as small as it was, and proclaimed failures by most of their former allies, got to High Iron before any of them did. Knowing they couldn’t hold it from Resistance Wars, we moved it to Hungary (along with HelloKitty, and Liaoning was eventually liberated, then retaken via Russia/Serbia), but for one day, the UK did something that the US spent 4,000 Gold and all their MPP fights and could not.

Operation LOLIrelandLOL (Lol Ireland, covers the failed EDEN invasion of the UK)

During the invasion of the UK by EDEN, which was a full on invasion via Norway (with open MPPs), the United States (also with open MPPs), Poland (who retreated quickly when they were turned away so their German regions weren’t threatened), Canada, and Spain (who took SE of England via the US), Ireland was in the midst of deciding it was tired of being bored, and joined EDEN. They were given the option to join on the side of the UK, and help out, instead they chose to declare war on Norway (which was given Northern Ireland and Scotland to stop Canada from invading) to take Northern Ireland. This was a pre-arranged deal with EDEN, even though they pretended it wasn’t. Once negotiations for peace were completed, the only original region of the UK that hadn’t been returned was Northern Ireland. They were once again given the option to return it, or face the consequences. They chose to ignore the request, so a Resistance War was opened. During the first day, UK troops fought only with Q1 weapons, which allowed the Irish to take a lead. The UK troops sat back, and Ireland continued to needlessly spend their fortunes on building a wall, which the UK was glad to allow. Five minutes after the battle ended, with Ireland securing Northern Ireland, an article was released by their President talking about Bleeding Red, or something like that, gloating how they had “won”. Just after that article was released, the second, and real Resistance War was started. This time, UK troops were in full gear, Q5s were used, and maximum damage was deployed both first and second day. Serbians, Portuguese, Hungarian, Russian, and troops from every other Phoenix nation deployed to liberate the region, as well as show the Irish just how insignificant they were. When the battle ended, even with Ireland trying to spend money to tank the wall up, they were broke, and we won with more than half a million damage to spare.
