Join the new world

Hello Everyone!
It’s George here and I am happy to announce my candidacy for Party President of the greatest of all eUK parties: the TUP! After 3 months as the Party’s vPP, it is a true honour to take the next step and assume leadership of the whole organization!



I have been heavily involved in erepublik for maybe the last 6 months during that time I have held several positions and gained a lot of experience that will help me to lead TUP in the next month.
Of Course, I am the current serving vPP. I held the position under Behemond4, LeoBalzac, and Tasos Maximos.
I am an RN member and have been at various points going all the way back to days of the Old Navy. This has allowed me to build a lot of connections both in the Party and outside.
I served as the Junior dMoD under Serf a couple months ago.
I have been a congress member in the last 4 congresses (plus one for the “shadow parliament” we set up during the brazil wipe). I
Finally, I have been a member of the TUPAC or TUP Advising Council, which helps to set policy in the party.


When you jump over to our Party page and see our #1 position in the eUK, it makes you think the Unity Party is the dominant force in politics here. Unfortunately, this is not as true as it should be. Despite being the ONLY party left with over 100 members, TUP is constantly outclassed by lesser but more unified parties. My biggest goal for this month is to make TUP powerful again!
In order to accomplish this, I want to undertake a few projects:
1. I want to work with my new cabinet (I plan on appointing all 4 positions this month) and the TUPAC to really set down an actual ideology for the party. While we all know the “official” ideology on the page, who can really tell what that means with regard to actual issues like taxes and alliances? With an established party stance on certain issues, we can better instruct our congressmen and voters to vote in the way that best serves the party.
2. We talk about recruitment a lot, but I think the bigger issue at hand is involvement by the majority of the party. Of our 114 members, only about 30 or so are involved in any aspect of our party. Furthermore, many members don’t even vote in the elections. This really hurts our power and standing and makes us being #1 mean less. To fix this I will do 2 things:
a. First, I will take one of my new cabinet members with responsibility over messages to the whole party sent out a few times per month, informing everyone about what is going on with the party and about upcoming elections. With these “get out the vote” pushes, we can leverage the full force of the Party to get more congressmen and maybe even a CP!
b. Second, I want to develop a new cohort of players who have the experience to replace those older members who are leaving the game and keep the Party Strong. I will run a little experiment in which I want to pair experienced congressmen with new members with no political experience. This “mentorship plan” will help to get new people involved in Congress while cutting down on button happy new congressmen (it was me too in my first term) who vote for whatever and let in whoever.
