[TTH] Game Mechanics: Political Takeover

Day 2,558, 05:12 Published in USA USA by Franklin Stone

Before we begin I wish to state here and now that I DO NOT speak for Easy Company Militia, nor do I speak for the Majority of the We The People Leadership; but what both these communities have in common is the freedom for citizens to express themselves. I speak only as a 'pop gun' America Soldier of no consequence, I speak only as an 'insignificant' but loyal American; I speak only as an American who believes in America First.

I also want to make it perfectly clear that I do not condone what Jude Connors did, he knows my opinion on this matter and we have moved on; so that others will know at the top what my feelings on this are: 'Using any Real World information concerning a citizen of eRepublik is wrong. You cross the line the first time you even Google for personal information on an eRepublik citizen. Openly using that information on a forum deserved and got him banned from the those forums.'  ~Franklin Stone

I wish both Jude and Artela well and hope they prosper in the United Kingdom, hopefully they will become active in the UK and America may yet benefit from their friendship; but I have a feeling America well miss them both.

This is a social game and the first thing a new citizen should do is join a political party and I recommend We The People, now I will admit that most of this digital world revolves around the War Module; but for me that is not true. The only two truly social modules of eRepublik are the Media and Political Modules, they are the pillars of socialization in eRepublik; they are how America is governed and how America stays informed as to how it is being governed. Some of America's most prominent citizens will freely tell anyone who will listen that eRepublik is a dying game, while at the same time inviting you to join their party and vote for them; they will tell you that the Media died years ago as they do everything they can to Censure any conversation about current events in the General eRepublik Discussion Forum, which begs the question, 'Where should current events such as the 'Artela Affair' be discussed?

Where should Americans go to discuss events that will affect all citizens, events unfolding before their eyes; what does a new citizen think? Congress has made it very clear that this has nothing to do with Congress and in this instance I must agree with that 'distinguished' body, it has nothing to do with them and everything to do with the party politics of a Top 5 party in Congress; a party who controls a huge voting bloc of Congressional Members who essentially want to assimilate your biological signature with it's own. Where should America go to discuss the fact that a long time American and Political Leader -who has given as much or more than others- has been driven out of America? My answer to that is the Media. Many other e😜atriot Americans could be named that gave a great deal of time and 'plastic' to their Party and to National Politics, all of whom have been drive out of America; a couple of them sit in the Great White North giving America an FN headache -well not now since it looks as though our Ally the United Kingdom has taken up residence north of the border.

Over the last few days I have been thinking about the game mechanic of the 'Political Takeover', while I think this game mechanic is the lowest form of political strategy; it exist and must be addressed. The 'eUSA Government' and most American citizens stand against an immigrant from a country who is an enemy of America who comes here and joins a party, fills it with his friends and then runs for Party President; thereby threatening America. This is understandable, America experienced a PTO attack from outside our homeland; which sadly was led by a citizen who claimed to be American. My question is, 'When is it acceptable to politically takeover a party?' So the question now becomes, 'Is it acceptable for an American citizens to use the Political Takeover to gain control of a Top 5 party?'

Sadly for me that answer has to be yes. When a party harms America IMO it is more than acceptable for an America citizen and his friends to attempt a PTO of that party, if a majority of party members stand against party policy is it not the right of those Party Members to gain control of their party? The one instance I would not support is an attempt by an American citizen from another Top 5 party who joins the party and then immediately seeks the Party Presidency, I see that as an outside attempt to control another Top 5 Party; a citizen from a 6th party however may in some instances be acceptable. Current events have shown the harm that one party can cause to America, although it was a allegedly a single member who actually caused these events; it reflects poorly on the party leadership as a whole for allowing one of it's members -even the Party President- to cause a long standing and loyal American citizen to leave not only that party, but America as well.

Congressional Elections are in a few days, at that time we will elect 'in game' our party's Congressional Members; after that the action moves to the eUSA Forums. If you are new to eRepublik and if you have ambitions of being a Disraeli, Aaron Burr or even a Kim Jong-un then you will need an account on those forums; America's Congress is housed on those forums and in order to have access to Congressional Discussions you must have an account. There are two pieces of advice I will give new citizens: a) reading is the biggest part of the forums and the game of eRepublik itself, if you don't like to read then this is not the game for you -read, read; read, b) when you're done reading and begin to join in you better have thick skin -think 'War Board' and you should be all right.

In a few days America will be choosing the citizens we wish to lead our country, we will be choosing those who will influence our Foreign Affairs; does America want a party led by a citizen who has the civility of a child and who throws himself on the floor when he is denied his way influencing how America deals with World Alliances? As a country America must survive on the world stage and influence the leaders of other countries, does America really want be seen as a bunch of whiny brats who would rather drive away allies than to give up an iota of power, to be seen as a country led by citizens and parties who drive out their own best citizens over power?

The one thing I want to encourage and drive home to the 3225 American citizens is this: GET OUT AND VOTE! Even if that is your one and only visit on the 5th, 15th and 25th of each month, at least come in and cast your vote.
