[TDK] The brutal, lost cause.

Day 2,628, 10:38 Published in Pakistan Pakistan by Nastoor

This story begins on the city Elon.M, planet Mars, the Milky Way.

Humanity had spread out and had reached distances outside it's solar system. They had traveled far and wide, looking for answers. Answers to age old questions, the most important questions. The question that whether they will find any companionship.

Yet they still wondered "Are we alone?", and "Where is everybody?".

Humanity had searched for far too long without any constructive answers. They were giving up. Any planet they observed from Earth used to die out by the time they reached it. The astronomers looked far and wide, but the moment they came within respectable distance to any planet, whole solar systems appeared to have mysteriously died out. Humanity had learned how to travel at 99.99% the speed of light. They could reach the moon in 1.2 seconds. 3 minutes to Mars. Yet, the speed was too slow to do anything meaningful. They had barely left the solar system. The physics held them back.

Little did they know, they were being watched. By intelligent, much smarter beings. The intelligent beings were actually very similar to humans. They were curious, they were passionate, they traits such as bravery, loyalty and more. They looked up to the stars and wondered just like we do.

The only trait that separated them from the humans was hatred. They felt none. They took no pleasure in killing others or winning unfairly. They took no pleasure in avenging the deaths of loved ones or to kill to boast.

An intergalactic treaty was signed to keep humanity out of contact from any alien species, for protection. It was signed to make sure no human ever finds out that there exists anything beyond them, and no one from the outside contacts them. To make sure that all events kept unfolding naturally, without human contact, all planets and solar systems were artificially destroyed before humans could land. All traces of any intelligent life were removed from there, and moved to different systems.

Desperate times call for desperate measures. They needed protection. From humans.
Come present day, around 3 million light years away from Earth, in Andromeda. There are 2 dominant races who control the observable universe. All other races had fused together after a very lengthy process, and therefore only 2 types of intelligent beings exist. These races are peaceful and stay in complete harmony with each other. They help each other and cooperate in all manners. The notion of war is very foreign to them.

The Sibajnups and the Tirbs.

The bigger and more influential one among them are the Sibajnups. They ruled over many galaxies for many, many years in complete peace. No quarrels ever break out, no being ever loses their cool. The system of governance here is a more advanced form of democracy. Everything is run in a perfect manner, everyone is civilized. No weapons exist in their domain. According to estimates they currently control over 500,000 galaxies. Except parts of the milky way, where Earth is.

The rival to their power are the Tirbs. The Tirbs are another peaceful and harmonic King-ship race, which lay claim to a much smaller, yet substantial, estimated 20,000 galaxies. Both the races are divided somewhere along the lines of the Milky Way. The Sibajnups control 95% of the Milky Way, while the Tirbs bordered the area where the humans lived. The 5% was the area which remained under the influence of the humans. Nobody goes in there, nobody goes out.

Until now.

The King of the Tirbs has a deep infatuation and curiosity about the humans. He fails to understand why they behave the way they do. He had given in to his curiosity, and made the decision to visit the humans, not as an outsider, but as a human. He would become part of them and live by them for a year, before returning to his home-land. He was warned by his advisers, yet his curiosity got the better of him, and he proceeded with his plan.

He did travel, eventually, and spent a year on Earth. Nobody knew his identity, or where he came from. He was just another face in the crowd. He blended in perfectly. He observed the lives of the humans, how they interact and how they live. He understood began to understand politics, war, scheming and much more. Nobody from his home was able to contact him, and nor was he able to contact them. He was alone in the world. A year had passed, and he finally returned to pompous welcoming.

Little did the men back home realize that he had changed. The King was no longer the same King. He became demanding. He began handing out punishments in the jury to people who disagreed with him. He began demanding money, goods and much more from his own people. The people were still peaceful, therefore they kept giving in to his demands. Until there was nothing more left to give.

That is when he began spreading out his demands to the Sibajnups. The Sibajnups refused, and the Tirbs' King declared war on them. The Sibajnups didn't believe in violence, therefore their military wasn't trained. The Tirbs' King on the other hand, had been made aware of the evilest tactics, during his stay on Earth. He took over many galaxies, and his empire was expanding. The universe was changing.

To be noted here: The Milky Way still belonged to the Sibajnups.

The Sibajnups' leadership was getting worried, and wanted to look for different choices. They tried dialogue with the Tirbs' King, but got bluntly, and flatly refused. They tried to train their military, but could not get them motivated to kill other living beings. They were economically strong, but militarily weak. They tried to impose economic sanctions, but the Tirbs' kept taking over territory after territory. The sanctions didn't affect them.

Soon enough, the Sibajnups were down to only the Milky Way and surrounding territories. The Tirbs' didn't attack the Milky Way at the beginning of the campaign because they didn't want to touch the humans.

The Sibajnups looked far and wide for a solution, but were unable to find one. Their government was growing tired, until a lowly minister suggested to their leaders the unthinkable. An idea so vicious that speaking of it would be comparable to blasphemy. The risks involved were too high.

He suggested to ask for human assistance. The humans were in possession of weapons far worse than anything they had ever seen. It was very difficult to accept this proposition. Yet, it was necessary.

They sent out a mission to contact the humans. Humanity was stunned after realizing and fully grasping the news. They first contacted them as an alien specie only looking to make contact with another alien specie. Humans rejoiced upon hearing they were not alone.

After a while the Sibajnups began explaining to them the real reason of their arrival and began the discussion on whether humans would be able to help them. After quick negotiations, the humans demanded faster than light technology and massive parts of superclusters and many other intelligent systems in return for protection against the Tirbs'. The Sibajnups hesitantly agreed, under the condition that the humans would only do what is necessary, nothing more, unknowingly what the future held.

The humans' campaigns begun, and they took the Tirbs by surprise. The Tirbs were shocked to see humans, but only their King realized what was happening, for he had lived among them. At first the humans were only removing them from the areas where they were an immediate threat to the Sibajnups, and soon enough they had returned the Sibajnups' territories to them.

They continued killing the Tirbs and started to attack their original territories. The Tirbs' King grew depressed day by day, until eventually he killed himself and his conscience. The Tirbs' were weakening. The humans were destroying them.

After it was evident that the Tirbs had been defeated and were down to their final 10,000 galaxies, they asked for an intergalactic peace treaty to which the Sibajnups agreed, but the humans did not, stating that the Tirbs still could be a potential threat in the future. The humans kept attacking and killing them to oblivion wherever they could find them, under the pretext of the possibility of the Tirbs becoming a threat in the future. The humans kept demanding more and more from the Sibajnups in return for their massive campaign, who were unable to deliver to the ludicrous demands of humans. In response to that the humans declared war against the Sibajnups and began the gradual takeover of their territories as well.

After a millennia of relentless warfar, the Sibajnups and the Tirbs were both down to one galaxy each, their original ones. The ones they started from.

This is the point where the humans finally stopped, saying the threat had subdued and they have had enough for themselves to keep a running system. The universe was devastated.

Many years in to the future, humanity has now perished. The greed made them start to fight each other, and the greed for riches and power killed them off.

They killed the Sibajnups in the process, whose intelligence and riches were a rival to them, and only the Tirbs remain.

The Tirbs keep looking to find hints of life in the far unexplored edges of the infinite universe. They have searched for billions of years, yet they were still unable to find any proof of existence of intelligent life beyond them.

Until one day they find a planet in one of the farthest corners of the universe. The Tirbs decide to move closer to observe what is going on, and on the planet what they see surprised them. What they see scares them, yet excites them. They see cavemen.

They had learned many lessons from their past. They had learned from the mistakes their ancestors made. They didn't trust easily anymore.
They decided decide not to inject the intelligence seed in them, this time. They left the planet, never to return.

And the search goes on.

Nothing would make me happier than a comment about the story! Let me know how it was.
