Citizens of the Republic,
I wish to announce my official candidacy for the Presidential Office of Ireland. We have seen dark times over the past few months and I wish to provide Ireland with a future, a brighter one if that. I have the experience, the organisational abilities and the international contacts to provide Ireland with a future in which we will see a strong nation re-emerge.
If elected, I will dispose of the Constitution (I was the CP who implemented it) and implement "Emergency Powers" giving the Executive complete control over the nation. It is my belief that we need a strong leader to deliver on results and this is the truth. Congress has fallen inactive and the last vote had a recorded vote count of 3-2. This simply isn't good enough. Due to being wiped, we already don't even have a congress.
There is so many things broken in eIreland right now - I want efficient action and subsequent results.
The following will be my aims if elected.
-Lithuania will be brought to a negotiation table and a deal will be struck with them. They have made agreements with us before but following a break-down in relations - they have no trust in our current administration. I feel a fresh face to deal with may bring us better results.
-Weekly National Strikes will be reintroduced - private and government funding will be provided to supply soldiers who show up to the Strike. These strikes were always good fun when organised and it encourages an active community and military. There is no reason not to do this.
-Community will truly be brought back to the forefront of Irish society. I want to see a weekly lotto return as well as State sponsored articles. We need to see an active media and for this I want the State to provide a guaranteed grant to journalists who actively produce material of a good quality.
-I want a restructuring of our finance. Income needs to be allocated to direct areas and profits need to be maximal. We need to review how we spend our money and where investments go. Our finances are weak and we need to be able to manage them appropriately.
-A capital drive should be launched. The State is as far as I am aware - quite bankrupt and needs capital to grow our current resources. What I am proposing is the issuance of State bonds. Give the State 1000 IEP. Get it back with interest at a later period.

While most of you will find the idea of congress not getting a strong input into affairs unappealing, it is for the greater good of our nation. I get work done and I always do what I set out to do.

WHS or someone else from ILP will still win the elections, do nothing for another 30 days and then claim that they 'gave their best'. Even though you provided them with ideas, they are incapable of making them true.

I'm not sure that Congress having low activity is an argument for disbanding them, in fact it would seem that would be an institution you could work with to give your policies greater legitimacy. Activity should be encouraged and plans should be presented clearly to encourage passage of good ideas. I agree with most of your points, but the methods are extreme. Your most key point might be the value of a fresh face for Lithuanian diplomacy, which does not necessitate Emergency Powers. Additionally most of your other plans, such as community activities and revitalizing the press definitely do not require them.
Congress can do some crazy things, sure, but a well-planned, transparent government will be successful as it has been in the past. Beware the path of "Greater Goodism" it has rarely ended up in positive places throughout RL or eHistory.

i'd like to hear your most recent past example of this.
You certainly have me at a disadvantage on recent history, however I cannot possibly believe that planning and transparency are negative traits for government.
I very much agree that planning and transparency are positive traits, but at the moment they are bogged down by inactivity and people only looking our for themselves.
A congress vote that ends with 3 - 2 votes shows that the congress body itself is right now broken. There aren't enough representatives of the people in there for it to work.
These are difficult times, and the best way to deal with them and successfully push through is swift and stern decision making.
The current system makes that not really possible.

whether or not someone with those traits can succeed here while encumbered with our current system is the question.

All of my actions I am planning on making public and letting people know what's done. Congress and Irish politics has been effectively diminished from our eyes and only the past few weeks has an opposition begun to emerge to what has become of Ireland. While congress does act in legitimising my actions, the true legitimacy I feel comes from the people who approve of my actions and that's what I am targeting.
Red tape and congress have played a part in what became the internal crumbling of Irish society, it's the bickering of rules and guidelines that holds us back.
We need action, we need results and we need a leader capable of that. That is what I am offering. As I've stated in my article, most people will find it unappealing that I wish to operate without a rubber stamp of congress but that's the honesty in my campaign. The previous two CPs (4 months of terms) have said a priority was to write a new Constitution which has not appeared, not even a first draft.
I can assure you that I will restore Ireland this way and have full intentions of reintroducing congress to the political system as soon as I've carried out key repairs.
Regardless, I agree that Congress may need guidance, perhaps through a strong CC that can encourage participation but also guide discussion. Working within the system to improve it will likely come with less resistance in the long haul. Obviously if elected you have a mandate, but it would be unfortunate to lose out on a good campaign due to overzealous steps where it may not matter.
I say this as someone who agrees, having reviewed the news of the last several months and agrees with the majority of your points, including the need for the current government to be accountable to their promises.
You will have some rules though? While an excess of rules/redtape is bad there should be some rules right? I mean you are not just going to come in and do what you like when you like? If you did then you would be a real dictator and we already have the faux dictator mechanic in place.

When the country is functioning, reintroduce congress. It has become redundant and the current institutions are clearly failing us as a people. Congress will be back up and running within potentially 2 weeks.
But Sluagh Congress is part of the current problem along with the administration...
By the way, Sluagh's proposal concerning a strong power seems to be rather limited in time - I mean until we all find a solution with Lithuania, and more active fellows to play with.

May not be Banist but if you are willing to administer the transformation of eIreland while also physically freeing it then I have no choice but to lend my best wishes. You can count on the Revolutionary Banist Party not to be backing ILP anymore - but as you have not incorporated anything that could be considered radical in your platform (albeit you have declared practical policies) we cannot lend our support as a party yet.
We would be willing to cooperate with the government on the issue of revitalizing our community, promoting activity and immigration, along with the social development of our great nation.

Ice Drake Shyvana the thing is that most current systems and ideas CAN work (I mean there is only so much you can do inside a game), it's that the current administration doesn't seem to use any good parts of it.
I have yet to see any financial reports, any updates from the government, ANYTHING that would show us that the government is actually doing something. The current government has no transparency what so ever, which is something that could be overlooked were we not in a situation as bad as this. Those currently occupying us don't even want to negotiate anymore because they don't trust those in charge. We are left with no bargaining chips, no money, and more and more players resorting to just double clicking away because there are too many things to fix.
The current administration keeps failing us in a spectacular way, and we want to change that.
Ice is part of the current administration now... therefore will have to tow the line!
