Building a Real Political Alternative.

Dear citizens of eBelgium,

Due to to the current political climate, me and a some other people saw themselves forced to take serious action. We are sick and tired of all the negative vibes that holds eBelgium in a firm grip. We want to bring a positive attitude with respect to all. We want more fun to come back to eBelgium. I didn’t have 40 gold to spend on a new party and people, let’s face it, eBelgium can’t take in yet an other new party. We have too many as it is. With this said, I want to thank Theneka to offer us to his party and it is with great pride that I announce that the old BCP has been reformed and is now called ULA. Not only does the party have a new name, it also has a new party program. ULA means United Left Alliance. Let me tell you what we stand for:

“United Community”

When we strive for a united community, a socialist organization is indispensable. It is important that all active members and supporters have a clear vision on what the ULA can do for the citizens in eBelgium. It goes without saying that our vision is in constant development. Discussion is therefore vital for ULA. Discussion, education, and not in the least Solidarity.

“ULA wants a form of society based on equality, solidarity, and social fairness.”

Why ULA in eBelgium? Mostly it's because we find it's the most sensible way for us to keep enjoying playing the game. Can we really be amused by racking up points in never-ending battles, or winning "honours’’ by getting elected to some silly thing, by working hard, or by getting rich by running a business? We in ULA, will be thinking about the game in a critical manner, especially its social aspects. Who is really profiting from various actions? Can the mechanics of the game be approached in a different way? What can we do to add some spice up the reality of the moment. And can we do that in a way that lifts people up; so that in some small way, and perhaps challenges some preconceived notions about "the way things should have been?”
The new implementations made by the admins (manager system) has made it very hard for companies that are based on profit generation to hire workers and help solve the unemployment. The state has to take it’s responsibility and help out those player that can not get to a decent job. The ULA has communes at disposal, and every citizen of eBelgium is free to join or leave them as they please.

“More than achieving winning in elections”

We want the achievement of ULA to be more than winning in elections. We want to bring solidarity back in eBelgium. It is easier said than done. It is sometimes difficult to discover what people want, and it is usually difficult to organize them. People have often superficial, sloppy, and have incoherent ideas, especially when they are new in the game We see it as the task of ULA to inform and educate them.

“Open communication”

The work of ULA will match the interests and desires of large groups of people! To know the interests and desires of the people we will go/talk to the people and gain their trust.
How will we do that? There is nothing more important to create a sense of unity than having an open-door space where people can speak their minds freely. The eRep equivalent of a saloon or a coffee-house is a chat channel. Let the forum function as “the office” and the comment section of articles can be seen as propaganda.

“Respect for individuals”

People attach great importance to their development, personal interests, and individual liberty. A good community cannot exist without individual freedom, limited only by the consideration that freedom does not harm the community...
The basis of this is that everyone remembers that eRepublik is only a game, and not more than that. The community around it consists of people and individuals like you, and they have feelings like everyone. Respect and the ability to look further than the things that are said are keywords to keep the community healthy.
