Paul Proteus for Party President: A Federalist Manifesto

Federalism yo, it's part of a balanced breakfast

For a brief moment, forget my name. Tonight, I'm Aaron Burr, because the Federalist Party is about to be turned on its head. As this game drifts towards oblivion, we, as a party, must fight the apathy and entropy that threatens to envelop us. While others, and many among us, have been content to drift towards stagnancy, factionalism and mediocrity, we, as a party, have, and can, do better. I can't promise you the heavens, but I can tell you, this party, the Federalist Party is special, we've been great before and we can be great again.

This evening, with your overwhelming confidence, I find myself, for the first time in 3 years, given the honor of leading this party again. Last time I took the reigns, we were the fifth largest party, in danger of fading into irrelevance, succumbing as so many other parties before us have. Now we are the largest party, perhaps content with that, afflicted not by a crisis of survival but by a crisis of belief, in ourselves and in each other. This, however, is a malady that can be treated, as I intend to. It won't be easy, it will take hard work and sweat, from me, but also from you, whether you be in leadership, or simply a rank and file member interested in making a difference.

Below is a platform, or perhaps, a document outlining what I'd like to get done, how I plan to get it done, and the team I've assembled to lead the way. Still, while I intend this to be comprehensive, the qualities, or themes if you will, of this term I intend to be brutally, and painfully, simple.

Involvement: Regardless of the USWP's braggadocio, we have an incredible core of players, including former CPs and, contrary to what some would have you believe, incredible rising talent. What we need to do now is open and pave the way for those who join our party, or have merely, until now, belonged in a state of inertia, to fully join and participate in our community.

Utilization: As I mentioned, we have talented players, we have active players, and yet all is quiet on the party front, activity is scarce. If you give me your trust on the 15th, and your work this month, I will put Feds where they can excel within the party, and the nation.

Consistency: This is Federalist No. 1. There will be more, this is only the beginning Where programs have been abandoned in the past, and leadership has been driven and well-meaning, but frequently absent in turn, I will pursue my agenda with an inexorable persistence.

Integrity: When you ask most Feds why they're part of this party, those who have stayed through thick and thin, through betrayals and disappointments, it's because when they joined, this party presented a vision that has been largely obfuscated in recent months. The Federalist vision is that of integrity. Truly believing that Country is greater than the Party which is greater than the Self. It's deeper than dogma. That the Federalists aren't a clubhouse, or a haven for demagoguery, but rather a style of play. And it's a double edged sword, the intensity of this vision, for ourselves and for our party has led to infighting, the result of competing passions, but it also leads us to the swelling of enthusiasm, the kind of which I saw first hand when I explored the possibility of running for Party President.

Feds, I thank you sincerely for your faith in the Primary, and I look forward to your votes on the 15th. There is so much that we can accomplish when we work together, with a unified vision.

Plus: It really is a great slogan.

So now, on to that document I promised you,

Platform Building

So....effective

So, what is to be done? What is the Federalist Manifesto? This month will be defined by more than rhetoric, but rather concrete ideas, which I'll elucidate below. First, and foremost:

FediCare

And dammit, you should be rewarded for it

If we want all Federalists, and not just the same dozen people who tend to populate leadership, to engage with us, we need to encourage them, give them an incentive to join us, and then allow them to contribute and help shape our party, and our community. The latter step we'll get to, patience my friends, the former, however, will be accomplished jointly through Communications (see: below) and FediCare. Caveat: I'm not married to the name, Fed-Cares, Tanks4GivingaFuck, PaulSucksAtNames, all are decent options and on the table.

FediCare is simple, it's the result of an ongoing dialogue between Tyler and myself, and is just this: Rewarding Feds for Meta-Activity, a thank-you from the party for those who make us who we are. Here's how it works: You do the following: You message me telling me what you've done with a screen shot or link to what you've done: You're given tanks.

That simple.

FediCare Activities:

*Join IRC: Drop by our party channel and receive 5 tanks
*Post on the Forums: Make a profile on our forums, request Fed access, join us in leadership and decision making, and receive 20 tanks, simply post and receive 5, make #1 top poster and receive 15.
*Apply for a Fed Job Message myself, or anybody in leadership, looking for a Fed Job and receive 5 tanks, do the job for a month and get 10 more.
*Write an article in game: Send me the link, and receive 10 tanks, if it's about the Federalist Party, tag it [FED] and receive 15 tanks.

Place holder until we buy real tanks

More activities may be added as the month goes on, but that's it. Free rewards for taking part in our community. It's that simple, it's not reinventing the wheel, but it will make a difference. Conditions: You must be a Fed, cannot be a member of the cabinet or an officer and can enter each task only once per week

Moving on,

Communications

Goodbye Blue Monday presents the best in image wizardry

First, for FedEx, we're going to be sending this out every Monday, thus every Sunday, every director will be charged with drafting a report to be included in the message, which will be our Chief of Staff's job to collect. Consistency breeds familiarity breeds ease of entrance for those Feds less acquainted with the Meta.

As for physical media, this is pretty simple, everyone in leadership will be required to do two things: First, write at least 1 Fed related article during the month, and second, shout, vote and comment on every Fed article published, there will be an in game thread for this which our media director will oversee. This is not optional, nor a drill. I will be publishing at least weekly from this paper, and I've found a perfect Media director to assist me. Fed Media, whether from leadership or from our members, will be visible, informative, and choice quality.

Cabinet in Mahogany

This is an original joke nobody has made before, especially not me

So, here is the group of Feds I've gathered to help make this month a success:

PP: Paul Proteus: A third rate country lawyer, no wait, that's Lincoln.

VPP and Director of Recruitment: Orikfricai:
Orik has been one of the most enigmatic and hardworking Feds I've observed since I've returned. He has original ideas, and is a force for positive change. Currently he's Deputy Speaker, next month, with your support, he'll be VPP, after that who knows. What's his job? Foremost, managing the party in my absence, I can not be on 24/7, but with Orik, the Fed Executive will never be lacking. Beyond that, his input in brainstorming programs and ideas to improve the party is second to none, together we'll bring you an incredibly strong month of leadership.

Chief of Staff: Slybabymichele:
You know Sly, she's always around, whether it's with advice, FPDBs or Elections and Primaries that have somehow been disregarded. Next month, Sly will be in charge of aiding me in making sure all the moving parts in this cabinet stay greased and moving, in charge of coming down on directors to post in the fpdbs daily (something that has been sorely lacking in past months), giving continuous updates as to what they're working on, and making sure their efforts are translated to FedEx and FedMedia so that both I, and the Party, are always in the know as to the progress and achievements of our departments.

Media Director: Sar97
While I've elaborated on the role of Media Director, more important, perhaps, is follow through. In planning this campaign, nobody I talked to had more energy or ideas than Sar97, and I know that he can bring my vision to the Top 5.

Director of FedEx and FediCare: Tyler Bubblar:
Huge thanks to Tyler, who has volunteered his time to help start this program, and continue keeping the party informed through FedEx.

Political Director: Cromstar
Don't call it a comeback, he's been here for years. Literally. Anyway, I don't need to tell you he knows his shit and can get this done. And on the down-low, I have exciting plans for this department, keep your eyes peeled, and your voice down, Crom's hearing aid doesn't appreciate loud noises.

And equally important, a few more positions of note, with more info to come:

Director of Retention and Games: Eliwood_Sain
Shiel😛 Casheua
eFPR Director: Dk3
Fed Lotto Manager: Raidoh

Anything left out is due to my error, as I am only human, and will be added shortly. Take my hand Feds, we can see out of this cave yet~

Mmmm...government integrity

And in Conclusion

There it is. That took forever to draft and far longer to write. I'm beyond honored to be given the confidence of this august Party of this month of August, and will be thrilled to have your vote on the 15th.
