Michael Schumacher is out of a coma and has left Grenoble hospital with reports he can communicate with his wife
Schumacher suffered severe brain injuries after striking a rock while skiing at the French resort of Meribel in late December
"Michael Schumacher is no longer in a coma and has left intensive care in Grenoble hospital nearly six months after his life-threatening skiing accident", his manager has confirmed.
On behalf of the Schumacher family, who have steered clear of the public eye, Sabine Kehm said the family were “sure” the wishes of fans had helped the seven-time Formula One champion recover and begin his rehabilitation.
In a statement, Kehm sai
“His family would like to explicitly thank all his treating doctors, nurses and therapists in Grenoble as well as the first aiders at the place of the accident, who did an excellent job in those first months.
“The family also wishes to thank all the people who have sent Michael all the many good wishes to Michael. We are sure it helped him.
