[New Era] Party President Primary Election

What is a Primary?
A primary is an election before the real election. You vote for the candidates as usual and the guy with the most votes wins, then all of the losers resign from the real election so that the primary winner gets all of the real votes.
Why are we doing a Primary?
One of the eUKers partly responsible for the destruction of the former largest party in the UK, UKPP, has decided join New Era and run for PP.
When mwcerberus was UKPP PP they lost more than half of their members and were being renamed every day as a joke. They ran a load of spamicans and TUP planks for congress. Much work was lost and we don't want that to happen to our party.
UKPP was able to be taken over because so many people ran for Party President that the winner won with quite a small number of votes. This is actually quite a common thing which happens naturally in New Era.
We know that a number of votes will come from their friends in other parties who will join New Era and in the run-up to the PP elections. They will try then try to take advantage of the large number of candidates running for PP.
How will a Primary help?
If New Era as a one off has only one PP candidate in the real election (with our usual many candidates in the primary), he will get most of the real New Era votes.
This means that other parties and other external units won't be able to send enough votes to get someone New Era members haven't voted for to win. If we had lots of candidates with the vote split between them, it would be easier to interfere and destroy the party.
It will send a message that we are organised and prepared for anyone messing with us, including this joker PTO candidate
Who else does Primaries?
In real life you see these every 4 years in the USA President Election.
In eRepublik almost all parties do them, usually for the President Election but some for the Party President Election too.
If you are not in New Era and are about to but in with some random complaint, I guarentee you that your party is either doing this themselves, or has done this at some point or another in the past.

Voting will close at 12pm 13th May 2013, eUK time.
After that time, all other losing candidates are expected to withdraw their candidacies in-game in order to make sure the Primary Election leader has the support to combat a PTO attempt.

If I think about it I would not be suitable to run the party and i know BigAnt can not only do a better job than I could but is more than capable of doing so.
so i have retired from the candiates
I like Party Primaries and think that this is a good thing for you guys. No-one wants to see a party be torn apart by PTO's - and i'll be holding my vote for as long as possible so if you need some ATO help just drop me a PM.
I do however have a couple of questions or personal observations if I may;
1) If New Era is Developing its leadership surely one of the best positions is the PP role for that. Why not push for a new-er player rather than BigAnt?
2) If a PTO is defined by a foreign entity coming into the party and taking over, doesn't BigAnt also fall under that categorisation?
Slight clarification I suppose is needed, BigAnt seems to do his best for each party he's been in (and there has been a few! TUP/ESO/UKPP and now NE) so I can understand why its not classed as a PTO. That being said you do have to consider that BA is a mercenary for power (and a very talented one at that!) and be comfortable with that.

No offence is intended and these are my own personal opinions, not that of any body (political or otherwise) that I am affiliated with. These are honest questions and observations that are not meant to be read in an aggressive manner, but simply quirks that I would like an answer to, if possible.
We are clearly under PTO. Attack. Bigant seems the best defense
1) They do develop, but through shadow cabs, pushing to apply for gment etc. It doesn't mean the democratic process is abandoned.
2) Whilst the eRep definition of a PTO says it's a foreigner doing the overtaking, it's not a huge semantic leap to see how it could equally be a subversive domestic entity. The issue is of intention.
BigAnt has worked very hard for us, if you put so much in even in a short space of time then you deserve to run for PP. He also has a track record of growing (rather than destroying) parties, we have also worked with him in the past so know that he fits in with us.
I only voted Wigibob because I think BigAnt is going to be a PTO magnet and draw in endless voters from other parties unfortunately.
PP isn't a training position, you need a high level of experience to do it. UKRP and TUP in particular do use it as a training position and imo their parties have suffered through inactive/poor months.
Maybe a established party could do this but as we are still sorting out what are party is and stands for we need experienced guys at the helm. The new era council has all our newbies getting involved though!
So you are telling me that in the nine months your party has been here, you still don't know what you stand for?
