[MoHA] Guide to War!

Day 2,854, 12:04 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by eUK Home Office

Ayyo! What's up? Hopefully you've all digested the last guide because we've got another one coming straight up for you. We are sticking on a military theme and today we'll be giving you basic facts on game mechanics like natural enemies, airstrikes and more! We may have more information coming up at a later date so keep a look out but now it's time for the MoHA Guide to War!

How Countries Attack Countries

If you check out the wars page you'll see that countries often attack other countries (shocking, right?). There are several ways this can happen. The most common way is for one country to declare the other as natural enemy, which is done through Congress. For this to happen the countries must have a shared border. This starts a war. Countries are also allowed to airstrike other countries which they do not share a border with by the country filling up their airstrike counter and Congress passing an airstrike law. They can select a region which they do not have a border with to start the law. Thirdly, a country can use the "declare war" feature but this is not used often anymore since it usually costs thousands of gold.

Let War Commence!

Once a country has started a war the Country President (or Dictator) chooses a region to attack, which starts the battles shown on the war page. The two countries will battle it out and if the attacker wins they gain the region, if the defender wins they stop the attacker. The winner also gains initiative. The country with initiative has 24 hours to decide which region to attack or else a region will be chosen at random. Therefore a battle will start when a new region is chosen (generally chosen at a strategic time to get advantage too) or after 24 hours. This pattern continues until either one country has no regions, the two countries share no border or peace is agreed. In wars the countries will often have the other country set as natural enemy as this gives it's citizens a 10% damage bonus.

But What About Resistance Wars?

Resistance wars are a special type of war which are different to regular wars described above. They can be seen as one-off wars between the conquering country and the conquered country, although governments often plan to have several following each other for strategic reasons. Any region which has been conquered by another country is eligable for a resistance war. 10 citizens (of any country) must gather in the region and pay 1000cc to start a resistance war - this is paid on the main page if a resistance war can be started. Once the war is started it is fought similarly to any other battle however allies must move to the specific country (instead of staying in their own) to fight. If the resistance wins they have freed their region and can start a different resistance war straight away, if they lose they must wait 24 hours before trying to start another resistance war. No country has initiative and another battle does not have to be started, the players get to choose when these happen.

And that's it folks! You should now have a basic understanding of how war mechanics work in the game. There are obviously more details related to each area as well as strategy but you should have grasped the general idea of how it works. If you have any further questions feel free to post them below and the MoHA (or MoD) will try to answer as soon as possible.
