The game mirrors life in a few respects - you get out of it what you put in. Money is nice, but of little value in and of itself. Triumph over your foes in inconsequential competitions is also nice, but can get old quickly. Meeting new people and realising you've got stuff in common with people tens of thousands of kilometres away - yeah, that's always cool. Learning bits of new languages (especially the swear words) and dirty jokes? Hasn't gotten old for me yet and I don't think it ever will.

I don't know how to put this gently, so I'll just dump it bluntly. You cannot win at this game. There is no end phase where we tally up points and joke about how so-and-so is a lucky git who can only roll 6's. There's no amazing Nanna who can lay a Canasta from her hand 5 games out of 6. Nope, there's just a bunch of ordinary Joe's and Jo's hanging out in a geeky space.

In a practical "lets achieve X" sense, the whole question of how to give directions to the dictator remains open. I have some ideas, but I ain't sharing with you two 3 days from a senate election... Unless infin drifts across, of course. We've got a long roster for Senate this month, but I'm sure we can find a place for you. 🙂

Whether the dictator takes directions is an entirely different story, and probably depends wholly on the character of the CP/Dictator.

Ilene, for many this game was about politics and it is what we invested ourselves in. The admins have so nicely taken it away from us as it didn't make them money and they saw a chance to make a load.

I played a little before citizenship was invented (like 2009). Then rage-quit. Then came by to see if the game was still alive earlier this year. I tell you, you can't quit properly from this place! It's like a fungal infection...just keeps on coming back. 😕
