It’s not often you have these moments, where you are just focused like the little laser dot on the wall that kitties love to chase and jump at not realising it’s not real.

Yet since my trip to New York, i’ve found myself in one of those moments … Everything is sharper, clearer and also, ripe for the taking.



I’m so confused, something easier to digest?

Ok, lets start with the obvious -

This game is dying. There is no getting around that fact.

I mentioned it recently in a half-joking manner, and got pulled up on it by several people >_> Sorry guys, but it IS the truth. Look at the US’s Population Stats as a SLIGHT (I won’t say it’s concrete, because everyone knows those numbers are inflated anyways) indication of what we face - 6,500 Citizens, down from 9,000 a while ago.

Sure, this wasn’t just people leaving … You had Serbian’s running back home after Free Area’s hilarious destruction of their political system after becoming PP. You also had bots being killed by Plato (Probably not too many since Plato doesn’t really care for multi bots does he). But the fact still remains that active people are deciding enough is enough and are hanging up their Q7 tanks, saying their fond farewells, and venturing back into the wilderness we call “Reality”

Now, don’t misunderstand me … I don’t like saying it nor do I like it happening. I’m foremost an optimist, I will ALWAYS try to see the best. But I am also a realist, and this is the games reality. The best we can do is try to work with it (The people within the game is what I meant by that … it’s impossible to work with Plato because, again, he doesn’t care) and keep as many active players as possible



How do you suggest we do that then ya Limey?!

There is no simple quick fix for this. Hell, I don’t even know of a long term fix either, since the solution to stopping the game dying lay in Plato’s hands and him making the game a more fun and versatile place to be. Each Module sucks and is stagnant - War never changes (had to get that quote in), the political module has changed for the worst (Region-Based Congressionals FTW!), the media module is to put it bluntly … Meh (Never really changed after ads were removed) and the Econo… the what module? … It doesn’t even exist! xD

However, there are small things you can do to try and keep players around -

* - NURTURE THEM: They got questions? Answer them! The trick here is to strike the right attitude … Sure you could be condescending and correct to a perfect “T”, but that’s just gonna show you as a rude individual and not enhance the game’s and its playerbase reputation. Be polite and positive.

* - GIVE THEM A CHANCE: It’s double edged since you don’t know them all too well … THEY COULD BE RGR … OR PFEIFFER! (No article is complete without obligatory RGR and Pfeiffer Multi jokes), But suspicion scares people off. Start them off small, show them the ropes where it’s needed, and gradually let them into things. They might not be right for a job, but HEY, you never got to be PP, CP, [Insert super witty and metagame position here] by not being given a chance right?

* - TRY AND BE POLITE: We’ve all been there before - Long day at work, your boss has been on your ass unfairly, stupid crap is happening and Plato is being Plato. But the new guys don’t know that, and while they may seem annoying, they’re just being themselves and new. Don’t snap at them, call them derogatory names and terms, take a deep breath and respond to them calmly. Nobody is a mind reader.

Finally, just remember … you was once in their shoes. Think to yourself, “Before I became what I am, how would I of like to of been treated?” … The answer is how you should act to others … Unless your answer was to be manipulative, contemptuous and all-out A**holeish to others, in which case, please keep your thoughts to yourself and go back to the basement.

And now I realise HOW MUCH OF A TANGENT I WENT OFF! So allow me to quickly get back to the reason I’m writing this article before I sap what little attention you may still have.

HEY, I’M OVER HERE, NOT BY THE DONUTS, GET BACK HERE. Anyways …

As of late, i’ve become really focused on the internal workings of my beloved party. For the first time since the whole Free Area PTO, I feel refreshed, and ready to take on my party again. No, I’m not running for Party President! … want to get that out of the way before people assume. Maybe in the future I will consider it, but my abrupt departure left a mark I have to clear first by working hard and proving that I am capable of handling the chair again.

But I AM returning to work within the party. I’m not going to lie, it’s needed in my opinion. Honestly, I feel leadership has become lax, stagnated and directionless, and I’m going to make it my job to whip them into shape, kick a work ethic into them and try and keep the juggernaut alive and running!

So to AMPers - You have any concerns or questions, MESSAGE ME. I won’t promise to solve your problems, but I will promise I will listen, respond and bring it up with leadership and MAKE THEM answer too.

Gone will be the days of lazing
