[ILP] Term in Review / So Long For Now

Day 1,879, 16:33 Published in Ireland Ireland by Gerald Smyth

Hey ILP it's been an honour to serve as your Party President.

A couple of good things happened under my term. I'm here to brag not only about myself and my comrades but our party and how we can continue the journey.

Expansion
We were able to get up to Number 1 in the ranks. Thanks to mass messages from WHS, Cydp and myself.

I am proud to have Ireland's largest party be the ILP and I hope this trend continue.

Unity in Eire
Party unity was also a goal. I think having six of Ireland's best political parties come across the aisle to back such a qualified candidate. The talks between the Irish Freedom Party, Independent Voices and our Independent Labour Party were fabulous and having Saoirse, the Irish Union Party and the Great Ireland Movement back our candidate was a touching moment in Irish unity. A new leftist party also came to the scene, the Socialist Alliance of Ireland which the ILP is willing to embrace and promote our leftist ideology.

Community
We also held a handful of lotteries and competitions thanks to Liam Tatlock and I hope more of these will come. Dahmnaic won the logo contest but the new logo doesn't seem to want to upload. The admins should get around to taking care of that.

ILP Leadership Board
I'd like to thank the ILP Leadership Board who did tremendous work. It was a mix of old and new faces and they are responsible for most of the work in this party this past month.

The ILP Leadership Board was
Gerald Smyth - President
MikeBane - Vice-President
RavenAnarcho - Secretary General
Winston Hope Smith - Senior Advisor
Liam Tatlock - Advisor, Spokesperson
Comrade Lovely - Advisor
Cydp - Advisor

Continuing the Legacy: MikeBane

MikeBane - the founder of the Independent Labour Party, incumbent Vice-President and world renowned leftist - is by far the most qualified candidate to continue the good work here at the ILP. He's a polarizing figure in eIrish politics but hey that's what makes it interesting. I'm sure promoting the eLeft will be at the core of his administration.

So Long For Now
I was saddened to be unable to serve as Brian Boru's Prime Minister and continuing the expansion of Ireland's greatest political party but I have to leave this game for some time. I'll be gone for about two weeks for personal reasons but when I return I hope to see some fun and I'll be ready to get back to work.
