Welcome to the Ministry of Domestic Affairs, headed by me, Invalidation. I hope that I can entertain some of your guys in what remains of this month, while also energising you to take part in making eSweden great!
As you can see I am trying out a new template for this paper, I hope you like it and find it useful.


The lost royal line of eSweden

An illegitimate claim to the Swedish royal line
The eMonarch of the eUK, HRH King Woldy I the Wise, has allegedly died. However, we have some rather clear indicators that this is simply not true!
In eSweden we are feeling the knock-on effects of the deposition and exile of the former monarch, for he has set his sights on a new crown. Like the villain we always knew him to be, the now 'Mr Woldy' has claimed the Swedish throne.
We know in our hearts that this claim is entirely illegitimate, but Mr Woldy has documents detailing his royal family, and apparently there are long forgotten ties to the Swedish royals. With our current lack of an established royal line, Mr Woldy would appear to have a valid claim.

How could this come to be? Well, we shall have to blame the Russian invaders at the turn of the year. In their sacking of our glorious cities, they destroyed many cultural treasures and historical documents, including but not limited to our official royal family tree. Now we lack our most solid evidence to prove that Mr Woldy is not the rightful heir, nor can we find the legislation that outlines the abolishment of eRoyalty!
After King Woldy taunted the French a second time, they took it to heart and launched an invasion of the UK with their Canadian and Irish friends. Showing his true colours, the cowardly King Woldy grabbed all possible proof of his privileged position and fled to his holiday home in Malta. In the mightily savaged and fallen city of London, we may never find out if he truly did manage to gather thee documents together, or if he just had his royal scribes fraudulently produce new ones.

So, what can we do about this narcissistic, power-crazed and debauched former monarch illegitimately claiming the esteemed Swedish crown?
We must find our own heir, who has a more legitimate claim to the throne. For the rest of this month, I'd encourage eSwedes to explore the world for signs of our lost royal line. We must spread the word that we want to find our lost monarch, put together our evidence and rebut these nefarious claims.

The Great Houses of eSweden are united in their distaste at the prospect of the former monarch of the eUK's attempt to extend his reign overseas. However, can the Great Houses put aside their own aspirations to the throne in order to form the most legitimate claim. To have the best chance of taking the throne, prospective royalty will have to work hard to evidence their lineage, but they must also have the backing of at least 1 Great House!
The coronation will take place on the 1st of April, on this day, each of the Great Houses will have to declare who they back as the new eKing or eQueen of Sweden. Whichever candidate has the strongest claim, determined by the sum of their own work and that of the members of the Houses that back them, will be crowned!
Once crowned, the new monarch of Sweden will be able to knight whoever they wish, and will be responsible for the future welfare of the crown.
Individuals with strong claims will be integrated into the Royal Family, so even without controlling the monarch, Great Houses can still put their people into positions of influence!


How to gain legitimacy
To add strength to your claim, you need to take part in this month's activities. However, you can also strengthen your claim by helping recruit players to eSweden, updating our wiki page (its very out of date!) and by writing articles to invigorate the media.
When you gain strength outside of games and activities, you need to report it in the Lost Royals forum thread in forum games. A list of everyone's progress will be kept on a googledoc, which anyone will be able to view. This will be updated every day, so bear in mind it might not include that day's progress yet.
There is a similar competition going on in the eUK, their [Blue] team are Mr Woldy's puppets and we must stop him from regaining the UK throne as well as stop him take ours! To prove your legitimacy over his, you can support the UK [Red] team.
When the new monarch is crowned, you will gain a percentage equal to your legitimacy of the 20,000 SEK prize fund! So take part to both win prizes and to potentially become the new King or Queen of Sweden. Foreign citizens may take part, but they will not be eligible for the prize, with the backing of the Great Houses they could potentially become Royalty though!

Bear in mind that your contributions need to be appreciable (judged by me), for example, updating only 1 or 2 words on the wiki won't win you anything, but updating and improving entire sections and creating new pages will!
Here is a run-down of how you can gain strength to your claim, this may be updated with extra options with new suggestions and ideas:

(+5) Signing up on the eSweden official national forum
(up to +10) Updating an eRepublik wiki page
(up to +20 per forum) Advertising eSweden on busy external forums
(+3/6) Posting in a foreign embassy as a diplomat (double credit for mentioning the Lost Royals dilemma)
(+2) Declaring the Great House you align to
(+1 per 4 votes) Adding your Great House's crest and name image in an article
(+1 per 6 votes) Writing [Red] in your article title
(+12) Gaining a new Battle Hero medal for a ONE/pro-ONE country (screenshot)
(+12) Winning a seat in congress this month
(up to +20) Good performance as a worker within your ministry (I will contact ministers toward the end of the competition and ask them to rate workers)
(up to +3) Taking part in a Lost Royals game
(+5-30 depending on game)Winning a Lost Royals game

Heads of Houses!
I have picked random royal dynasties from Sweden for the Great Houses, hopefully no-one would find this distasteful in any way.
No doubt you have noticed that two of the Great Houses lack Heads? Well, I'd like volunteers to head them up, contact me!
If you become head of a house, you can make an IRC channel and we'll try and get a subforum for your House. You will be their spokesperson at the coronation, so you'll have the sum of your people's legitimacy to play with, and can chose who your House supports for the new monarch. I'd suggest you hold a vote with your people to decide who you support, but its up to you 😉
Remember, you can also take part yourselves in games and attempting to gain the throne (though I can't), the tactics you chose to use are entirely up to you. Endear, infuriate, lead fairly or corruptly, whatever you like as long as its competitive!

Forum Games!
Very soon the first major forum game will be posted up on the national forum, its somewhat similar to eVillage of last month, but with more twists. Your performance in this game could make the one that's planned to follow it a lot easier!
